cclarry Latest update... They have no intention of giving me the credit(s)....so that was about $100 I didn't get...
So I am hereby formally withdrawing my endorsement of Nomoreracks.com.... Their referral program appears to be a scam...
Those of you who bought these using my link...if you have the time, please write an email to Nomoreracks and express your displeasure if you would be so kind....
Hey Larry - that really bother's me. I have a real problem giving my money to these types of folks. So, they've emailed me a survey to fill out after my purchase of the headphones. The following is what I typed in the Open/Comments section just above 'Submit'. [You might like #4 & onward]. 1. Many troubles when opening account. 2. Promised $10 credit didn't show up right away as promoted, but took a few days.3. Far too many emails [like 4-6 per day] to my email - very annoying!4. Multiple Commissions to a colleague who recommended this site to many of us were re-neg'd and never paid to him as promised. Conclusion:Therefore, I won't be buying here again and will be closing my account in protest to this lack of integrity, promise & good-will.

I have a set of these from a couple of years ago...nice headphone...not good at all for mixing though...although you do hear around the traps how great they are as mixing headphones. They aren't.

He montezuma, You say the ATH-M50's are not good for mixng but actually they can help a lot. They will not give you the perfect flat response but they are flatter than most in this price range. If you mix on speakers and test on these cans, you can get a fairly good idea of what is going on if you know your system. When that is common place, these cans are very very good. It is all a matter of how well you know your hardware IMO.

Yeah that's true...and how well you know your headphones. You could probably mix on iphone earbuds if you really knew them. I'm just saying that right off the bat what sounds nice in the ATHm50s...doesn't translate. You'll be making all kinds of concessions, tweaks and adjustments.

You could say that about any less than perfect monitoring environment. Very few people have the perfect room, so nearly everyone is "making concessions and tweaks" to compensate. It's no different with these cans.

Yeah they're great through the VRM box. If I use the VRM all night there are times when I forget I'm wearing headphones (until I try to stand up )

I'm only watering them down a little bit because I have read time and time again on the internet how great they are for mixing. They're not.

I guess that's a matter of opinion.
