Check this out: http://mathaudio.com/headphone-eq.htm

It's a public beta for a headphone EQ plugin. I'm gonna give it a spin...

OK, here's what it purportedly does. The idea is you listen to a swept sine test tone for audible peaks that indicate resonances within your headphones, and log them so the plugin can then create filters to compensate for each of them. Interesting concept. Supposedly, this method works better than traditional measurements because it takes your own unique physiology into account. That kinda makes sense, just as acoustical anomalies in a room are the result of the interaction of speakers with the space they're in.

I'll let you know...

Wow that sounds amazing. I'm definitely going to give it a try. I've often thought my ear holes were a weird shape, given that I can't find one single ear bud which fits me.

Well, I haven't gotten very far with it yet - can't get any sound out of it. I tried configuring it as a synth, but that didn't help. The instructions say you may need to start playback in the DAW, but that didn't do it, either. Still experimenting...

Karyn has it right.
I have my MASTER buss output to the ARC buss which is routed to my monitors.
Always route bounced mixes or exports from the MASTER.
Also a "send" on the MASTER outputs to the headphone amp.
I'll now route that send to a "phones" buss or multiple sends and busses when using more that one set of cans...

Tom

This is a cool tip..... But how do i make the export default to the master bus? The default export is entire mix and in the box below it just lists my soundcard outs. So i select bus from the drop down menu....but use I use quite a few busses so have to deselect all those apart from the master which seems more hassle than just turning arc off.

Am I doing something wrong? It wouldnt be the first time....

Where it says entire mix, click on the button beside it and select buses instead. Then it will show all your buses in the project instead of just your soundcard/interface outs. Just highlight your master out from there and that's it.

I also save exports as presets as well. I have a bounce to tracks preset and an entire export mix preset.

I have my ARC setup like Karyn and Tom and it works great.
