Beagle are you out of work for a while? how long? does your company give you sick time?
I was on "light duty" today(read office work). The doctor actually cleared me for a full release, but my manager, who is known to be somewhat of a harda$$ allowed me to exercise that option. The corperate guys questioned light duty for a dog bite, but he backed me up. I'll be back to work tomorrow, though. Certain motions hurt, but for the most part, it is healing well. The back side of my thumb is pretty much dead to sensation, and that may not come back. But the business side is fine. I can use tools, and most importantly, I can hold a guitar pick. @ Starise-Ouch @ Mesh- yes it is, and that concerns me some. They pick up on fear, which tends to make them more aggressive. I anticipate being a little more spooky around them than I used to be. @everybody else- thank you for your support, you guys are the best.

Me too. Looking at the tendons and veins through the holes was a little freaky. A 1/4" would have been a whole 'nother ball game.

Service Denied (until at which time the company buys arm bands and leg bands that resist dog bites). But you can sing along to one of your Country favorite songs. http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/owens-buck/ive-got-a-tiger-by-the-tail-17976.html(except with different words). I~~~~~'ve Got A Pit Bull by the Arm it's plain to see, I'll be dragging him on home with me, And when that Pit Bull is clearly done with me, You can also have a Pit Bull by the Arm.

Rain Ouch! All my best wishes for a complete recovery, Bob. And DO press charges!
I agree... I got nipped by a dog once. The lady was holding her on a leash and telling me that she isn't bad she just needs to get to know you. Well, she did... as soon as she got close enough she jumped out and managed to just get a bit of skin from the soft underside of my forearm. Another time I was at their house doing work and the dog broke a window trying to get at me, I got in the truck and left. Eventually, after the dog bit three people they had it put down. It was a collie. Pit bulls scare me because of the PSI pressure in their jaws. You are lucky it let go. I hope you are OK and completely heal. They should pay all your expenses and compensate you for any damage or loss of ANYTHING. BTW, you may know that I've had an exterminating business since 1989 and I worked for others before that. I've had to deal with a LOT of dogs. The worst breed I have encountered is the Springer Spaniel, they are always aggressive. I've known some great Jack Russells and I grew up with Airedales. Most of them were OK, we had one that we had to take care with when she had pups and we had one pup that had to be put down. The people who got it had pigs and it would kill anything that came in the yard, pigs included. They use Airedales to hunt lions.. they are rough. I wouldn't trust one, they are all business all the time. When I was maybe 13 or 14 a friend and I were walking home and all at once two Dobermans came across a street and began backing us up to a fence. They were about 10 ft away when a woman across the street came out and called them off. I don't think they were going to stop, they certainly didn't act like they were. Someone said that you cannot trust a Pit Bull and it is true. Some people say that they can be trusted, that it is only when people train them to be bad that they become dangerous... last year there was a regional story, Atlanta area, where a Pit Bull that had been a family pet you IIRC about 8 years, and inside dog. One day, out of the blue this normally sweet dog killed their baby. They didn't have it chained, they trusted it and it never showed any signs of aggression until it killed a child. I would NEVER trust one... and I have seen some that were really sweet Pit Bulls, at least at the moment they were sweet. J
