What happened to this forum?

This used to be so crowded.  Ive been gone a couple years and everyone vanished.  Is Sonar not as popular now?  What happened?

It's funny you say that because many who haven't posted in years have returned since the release of X3.

This time of year is betwixt and between. It will be awhile yet before X4 comes out and because X3 is so well put together there are fewer posts with problems.

Try back in the fall and see how crowded it gets.

...and give yourself at least a week to get into it. In many ways it's like learning a new program.

There was a learning curve with X1, but ultimately I was able to get projects done faster. If you had 8.5-specific workflows they may or may not be possible with X-series software, or there may be improvements, like comping (which I think most would agree really rocks, once you figure it out).

The Melodyne thing is huge, as is VST3 support. Waiting to come on board until X3 was probably a good move as it's a much more mature program compared to X1.

The forum has been quieter as of late due to the success of the last release.   Very little to complain about.  Most peoples issues are simple "ah ha" things or "sonar just does not do that".

Sonar X3 is working flawlessly for many users (myself included) so there aren't a whole lot of issues being discussed..

Idk, Craig Anderton has started a few interesting threads worth reading IMHO.

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I assume you're talking about how many people are on the forum the moment you looked? I didn't know that info was shown. I agree with those who say its a quiet time between a successful release and a new release. I'm fairly certain that sonar is more popular now than ever before. If they released a Mac version, they would likely become the #2 daw. I don't use mac, but millions who make music do.
A musician friend of mine visiting from Sicily yesterday said sonar is "up and coming" from what he's heard. That seemscrazy to us long-time users, but it may be true in some respects. Luv ya cake!

It's true that when someone digs up an old thread you see a lot of names that you don't see anymore. I think they passed away..we need an Obituary thread..
The Homebrew forum sends me an email if I don't post for a few months. They seem genuinely concerned for my well being..

The X Forum was definitely much busier 2 years ago.  I remember remarking at the time that, whenever I looked at the list of threads, everything listed on Page 1 had been active in the last 24 hours or sometimes much less. Scroll down to the bottom of the list now and you will always see a few "Last Update: Yesterday" threads.
