I think that might be from the same publisher as the one I have called Sight To Sound by Leon White, yes? Dale Zdenek Publications. I recall the title of yours and probably had it, long ago.
 
Being a guitar teacher, I built up quite a nice library over the years. It's all gone now, or rather 98% of it, anyway. It all got yard sale'd away during the very lean years(ca2008), which ended for me personally, in 2011.

How cool for you! I wish I had mine still. I managed to keep a Chris. Parkening Plays Bach, the 2 Mickey Baker's Jazz Guitar, a book on Jazz Riffs, and the Steely Dan (Pretzel Logic and Katy Lied) and very ironically, my first Mel Bay book #1 from August of '63! They all got stashed in boxes that held either studio gear, as packing, or with instruments inside of cases for the guitars I got to keep through Chapter 7 and the yard sale years. I didn't find them till we bought our house in 2012.

ps     I've been looking around here, for a Sam's Book by Jack Darr, on Amp Servicing, that I've had since the late '60's, but I think it's gone. Maybe I'll find one at Habitat!
 
 
 

I've always just tinkered with jazz, IMO, though I gigged with jazz (society)bands,(vs "Coltrane" players who can blow!),  was/still am fascinated by the chords and progressions. So, I studied chords, learning them and absorbing them, and listening to Joe Pass, Herb Ellis, Jim Hall(!), Charlie Christian, Wes and everyone else.
    The first "jazz" gig, which I was told was a rock/dance/oldies gig, caught me off guard. The pianist handed me a book, but I didn't have my glasses, so I winged it (I have great ears and know theory well). In the middle of the first jazz tune, he said "you aren't playing my chords". I said I would pay more attention, but at the end of the tune, he took the book back and said "I love what you're playing! Forget my stuff and go for it, man!"
    The gig went very well and I got a bunch more from that one, that night. As I drove home, about an hour away, it dawned on me that I had literally ABSORBED it, over a couple decades. I still wish my solos sounded more like my hero's, but I am patient! LOL
