With the spectral editing can you edit any blob within the spectrum or only a segment of the timeline?

Not sure what you mean but here's a demo that shows how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeRYBLyVyEk

It looks like you can select a "blob", and the healing process seems pretty slick.

It is quite a nice feature...and when you consider the price of RX...that just really
makes it a nice thing to have "included".  You don't get the entire restoration suite
in Pro X, you just get the Dehum, Declick, Denoise, etc...but they work very well.

The included instruments are decent.  Not spectacular, but decent.  Independence Pro
is ok.  It definitely needs an overhaul.  The included effects also are quite worthy.

Kenny, ah, ok I think I understand now. Audio Cleaning Lab does not have spectral editing, but the program you have, Audio and Music Lab does. Take a look at their feature lists here: http://www.magix.com/us/audio-cleaning-lab/

They have so many options that things get confusing.

Hello  dstrenz ,
+1 on the confusion part

it has been my experience that Magix has never listed the full specs for any version of Audio Lab…
also they can be somewhat ambiguous in what they actually do show on their web page

I have both versions of the programs you have mentioned …
the only difference is my version of Audio Cleaning Lab is 2013 …soon after picking that up they offered my an upgrade to the second version in your link  the premium ACL 2014

The Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 2013 does indeed have Spectral Editing …
I know this because I have the program
yet, it is highly possible that with the 2014 version of ACL ( only out a few months) ..they may have pulled it …
or they may have changed the menu on how it is accessed ..if they actually pulled it ..i will stand corrected

let me back track for a second ..
when I upgraded to SONAR 5 way back in the day . I picked up my first version of Audio Cleaning Lab
this was due in part because I needed an outside of SONAR audio editing program ..
at the time, most of the people I ran across here on the forum were using SONY Sound Forge …
for me personally  i  could not afford to purchase Sony sound forge ...
so I went with Audio  Cleaning Lab ….even back then ( about 8/9 years ago ) the Audio Cleaning Lab had the full functionality to do spectral editing . btw , I still run that same version of ACL...on my XP machine ….

as far as today goes …the spectral editor is not something I use all that often ….
the Audio C..L…. packs a lot of features that I'm actually much more impressed with and use ...
I have been telling folks about A..C…L.. for years , and most people dismiss my recomendation , I'm OK w that .

more importantly , every version of A..C..L..I've owned and used has had almost the full functionality of object editing that comes with the higher end top tier products  ..even has a lot of the same plugs …and a few that are scaled back
most people would be very surprised to find this out …also , there's a lot of other things that I could mention ..I won't

you found out for your self how good the Music Studio Version was right ?after using it for a while you upgraded.. same deal

nice rappin w you

Kenny

So, it looks like for 2014, they pulled the spectral editor from the regular version of Audio Cleaning Lab, but it is still in the premium version which, of course, is named differently, Audio & Music Lab Premium. Just wanted to make sure that people who expect to get a spectral editor know which product has it.

That's similar to what happened with Samp. The Pro X version added the track level spectral editor and they pulled the large dedicated one that was in previous versions.

I wouldn't be one to dismiss your recommendation for ACL. It likely uses the same audio processing engine and noise reduction effects as Samplitude/Sequoia. Samplitude and $50 Music Studio have identical audio setup dialogs.

I think I know what you mean by "blob" now. The guitar examples in the video had string noise between notes and were easily removed by drawing the blob through the whole spectrum, top to bottom. String noise like fret buzz while playing a note is not as easy to remove because the note goes away too if you select the whole spectrum. Best that can done is to draw the blob around the worst offending frequencies to reduce it.
