What is the deadline to upgrade for the advertised cost?

Still haven't seen a definitive on that.

What is the drop dead upgrade for the advertised price date?

There isn't one.  Some people have received email saying it will be Real Soon Now.  I've received emails that make no mention of it.  Cakewalk has said the date isn't fixed but we'll get ample notice. whatever that means.

It may well mean you will get an email saying it will be Real Soon Now. Or not.

It is kind of insulting that they do that. Attempting to make you panic buy to get the product. I do not want to lease this stuff for a month at a time. I am used to the upgrade path and refuse to lease stuff. I would have rather seen a upgrade time frame so I can budget the funds to outright purchase the upgrade.

Bakers, how about an expiry date for the offer? You can PM me, e-mail me, or post it outright for LONG TIME users of your product.

I do not want to lease this stuff for a month at a time. I am used to the upgrade path and refuse to lease stuff.

I guess it needs to be said *yet one more time*

It is a payment plan (not a lease) if you pay 12 consecutive months. At the end of those 12 payments you own the fully functioning unlocked product *no differently* than the person who paid upfront on the same day one as you.

Yes, that is more than $149 but hey if you can't plop down $149 now, and don't want to pay a little more over time, then I do not know what to tell you.

That is not my main question and yes, I understand that fully. I read some conflicting info on that in a marathon thread. I am not interested in causing a debate on the monthly plan. I want to purchase the upgrade, as I have mentioned, like I have reluctantly done in the past.

I would rather have you answer my main question rather than pick apart my posts please. :)

Yet one more time, I received another 'this offer ends soon' e-mail with no hard and fast date of the end date.

Hurry Sheep, BUY IT NOW does not really motivate me. Deadlines, great product and great deals motivate me...

It's marketing and it happens all the time. It might be frustrating but I wouldn't go as far to say it's insulting, you don't have to buy it. It worked on me I bought it earlier than expected. Baa baa!

Mine are like Paul P's, no pending end time. We're all on different email marketing lists, and with no offense intended, I'm certain that the database is a bit confused based on how many people want emails but don't get them.

In my own case, I've had periods of getting dupes, periods of no emails. It's possible that those getting the "act now" emails meet certain past buying behavior criteria and the rest of us meet other criteria. Also possible that Cake is testing to see how those types of messages drive buying behavior differently than less coercive emails.

Doesn't matter. We are responsible for when we buy, not the emails. Personally, I'd appreciate knowing the deadline with about a month's notice so I can choose/buy in a relaxed and easy manner.

It's probably the other way around.  I'm getting all these emails because I haven't updated.  I think Cakewalk is getting back at me for so loudly complaining that I wasn't receiving any notices .
Still, I'd rather receive them every day than not at all.

I'd like to update, but I can't swing 150$ right now.

Surely you either buy two cups of starbux a month, or maybe you go out to lunch twice a month, or have a brewsky at the local pub two or three times a month?

That's about $14.99 a month, yes? I'm thinkin' you can swing that by doing without one of the above.

And if there is a Missus Paul P she'd likely not notice $15/mo

Me too.
I've put the upgrade on the Financial plan line up, so that means about 5-6 weeks for me.
Coming out of holidays etc and mid a couple of projects takes a little time to recover and when someone asks you to buy now; it takes some discipline to follow ones budget especially one as good as this one.
I'd rather pay the upgrade upfront then be bound by a future commitment.
That's financial planning for you.
All I need is a win fall now.
A little bit of hope and a lot of luck.
Glad there will be plenty of notice after the "buy now"

@Paul do you have Platinum? Because if you do maybe it's been stripped out.

This is the precise reason The Bakers introduced the monthly plan.

Let's look at the math..
Buy now for $149 or wait and miss the promo price and pay $199.  That's $50 extra..
Buy now on the monthly plan, pay 12 x $14.99 = $179.88.  Still a saving of $19.12 on the "regular" price.

Still haven't seen a definitive on that.

What is the drop dead upgrade for the advertised price date?

Personally I think the deadline should be 30 days after all the bugs have been sorted out :O)
