From PMs with BlackWave, it IS "100% Mackie" compatible and works without problem with stock MackieControl Sonar plug-in....

What is the "stock MakieControl Sonar plug-in"?

Thanks,

Walt

Hi guys. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem? I set up the X touch as per instructions and everything seemed to work fine for a couple of days. Now all of a sudden the transport buttons don't work properly. The faders work and the stop button works and the fast forward rewind buttons work. I can start playback and record from the keyboard and the stop button operates. I don't need and won't use most of the functions but transport record undo and Save are the reason I purchased it. I have updated the unit to the current firmware and still the transport refuses to cooperate.

I would be grateful if anyone here has any ideas.

In the background all actions are MIDI commands, so I'd check whether something blocks or remaps specific MIDI commands (e.g. I had custom MIDI key bindings using MIDI shift cause something similar).

2 applications accessing the same MIDI device could also cause such issues

Thank you. I have no idea what those would actually be I don't even have an operating midi track in the projects.
I have Microsoft wavetable checked in preferences, maybe I will uncheck that.

I'm guessing that it was the V 700. I went into preferences control services and the V 700 and Mackie were both listed there and both parameters of the V 700 were set to xtouch as we're both the parameters of the Mackie.
I selected V 700 and click the red X to delete it and apparently that was the problem the transport works fine now. It was just puzzling because for the day and a half that everything worked both those units were listed. But no matter.
It works now and that's all the couch. Thank you gentlemen.

Very good, Steve.  I will just point out that you can have multiple devices all connected.  I have the X-Touch and, using V-Control Pro, an iPad and an iPhone all controlling the same SONAR project.  Move one fader, they all move including the screen.  The transport controls work together as well.

Software: Cakewalk by Bandlab; Adobe Audition; Band-in-A-Box audiophile; Izotope Ozone; Encore; Melodyne; Win 10 Pro, 64-bit.

Hardware: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 2nd; Roland Integra-7; TCE Finalizer; Presonus Central Station, Behringer X-Touch.  Home built i7 with 16 GB RAM, SSDs.

I guess the effect was simple: when 2 plug-ins get the same signal ("Play"), both try to "toggle" the state, if it was "Stop" it starts play, if it was "Play" it pause.
So... if the second plug-in is called right after the first one, it can "see" that transport is still in "Stop" and switch it to "Play". It kind of work then. But as soon as both plug-ins are called with some delay, the second see the transport in "Play" (triggered by the first plug-in) and "Pause" it.

riojazz is right, Sonar supports many surfaces at the same time. But hooking one physical surface to more then one surface plug-in is looking for troubles (still in some situations that was used).
Note that several Mackie (compatible) units will work as one with stock plug-in, the plug-in supports only "one set" of Mackie units (XTs, C4).

Yep
Actually the v700 has been disconnected for quite a while. I guess it was just seeing the modified pre anniversary drivers.

I just plugged in a new XTouch and while everything works fine, the faders are jittery in Sonar when I move them quick. They get stuck while moving. They work fine outside sonar. Any hints on wwhat is happening. I noticed on google, some people faced the same issue with Studio One. No solution though.
Also posted in the Sonar forum.

Stuck, as in the motorized part seems to be holding you from sliding fader? I've noticed that too and it happened when I was using the Roland v700 system as well.
I never figured out what caused it Kama I just move the faders slower.

This video (below) shows the issue and provides some solution , but it looks too cluttered to use such a tool to fix this issue. Hoping the Sonar forum will have some smart solution for Sonar.
