The reference manual and user guide PDF are now included in the Braintree update. I Just emailed a copy to myself and am having no issues reading it on an iPad air.

Thanks for the help!

I could be very wrong, but thought I remembered that being one of the big complaints about iPads - that they can't open PDFs...

I have about 50 .pdf files on my iPad. I first copy the .pdf file to my Dropbox. Then in Dropbox, I select the file and clicking on the file transfer icon (a square with an up arrow), I select "Open in..." and choose "Good Reader".
Once the .pdf file is in Good Reader, I make a "New Folder", rename to the software/hardware product (i.e. Sonar Ozone 5, Jupitor 80, etc.) and move my file to that folder. I then delete the file in Dropbox to save space.

I could also transfer using iTunes, but I find this easier for me.

Hmm, I've run the latest Platinum update (Sonar shows as 21.1.0.38).  The user manual and CHM help file are listed, but no reference manual.

I'm looking under c:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR Platinum....

I've only run the Platinum update.... Is the reference manual generated by one of the other updates (ie. Help and Tutorials)?

Can anyone confirm how big the reference manual is. Is it comprehensive, or just a small guide. Internet is screwed here at the moment and it's going to take 16 hours to download the 1.3 gb Tutorial folder just to get the manual. I can't leave my laptop on for that amount of time due to my circumstances at the moment

I asked before, I wish this was a separate file

My mistake; it's the SONAR Help and Tutorials item that adds the Ref. Guide.

It's 2188 pages. You definitely want to have it.

Yes you are right I do. How big is the file size, is it emailable?

It's currently showing 23 hours to download, because of the other content

I too just entered the world of iPad and yes you can download and read/access pdf files.  I had to use iTunes (like everything else on the iPad).  You move the pdf into the iBooks section of iTunes and then Sync it with your iPad.  This will place it in the iBooks section on your iPad device.

Google it.  There are many "how to" explanations on the web.  Good luck.  Hope this helps!

File is ~40MB, 30MB zipped. Many e-mail systems still restrict to 10MB.

I use hightail.com for this kind of file transfer.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

I just added a feature request to bundle the help separately from the tutorial files.  It's annoying having to download and fill my hard drive with the tutorial files then having to remove them just to get at the help files. I assume if there was a small documentation update then you'd have to download them all again too!

I personally would prefer them to either be a part of the main Sonar install or a documentation unit to themselves.

I'd like to specify where the Reference Manual gets stored. I have a SSD for C: and I'd rather not clutter it up. How do I do that ?

The reference manual is a PDF. Allow it to be installed in "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR Platinum/Professional/Artist" then move it to the new location.

Hi Guy,

Is there any help file yet?

When I go to "Help/ Whats New" it open the Sonar X3 help file. Is there a way I can open Platinum help file?

Shine On!
