[Closed] Sonar (X3 and Platinum) crash with Dimension Pro drum grooves

I tried a small loop with a drum groove in Dimension Pro and it crash Platinum and X3e also .

Steps :
- load Dimension Pro in the first track
- choose dl_80_k06_lp01 from 19- Drum grooves presets in Dim Pro
- create  a  2 measures loop (from 1 to 3)
- in PRV insert a note at f2 covering the entire loop
- start playing

at 80 bpm - it crash at the second iteration
at 100 bpm  - it crash before reaching the end of the loop !
at 120 bpm - it crash at iteration 20 or so

Anybody can reproduce ?

Thanks

I did two measures the first time, 3 & 4.  I just slid everything back and looped measures 1 and 2.  No crashes.

    Thanks BoF

I tried it at many BPM (i updated my post)  . At 100 bpm it crash before the end of the loop . Look at the result at the top for 80 and 120 . Which bpm where you at ?

    It's crashing here as well.

I'll try to reproduce on my studio DAW later. The crashing is on my 2nd, everyday machine

    I'm glad I saved this as a project  :)

80 bpm, no problems.  Looped umpteen bazillion times.
    100 bpm, same.  No problems.
120 bpm, same again.  No problems.

Have you started over with a fresh project to see what happens?

Sounds to me like you're experiencing buffer underruns, dropouts, whatever, and your audio driver isn't dealing with it very well.  Or your audio driver is just flaky.

thanks again BobF - i used the latest driver for M-Audio Fast Track available on Avid website (v6.1.12) . I also tried it with the onboard Realteck audio (last version) and it still crash on 100 bpm (did not try others) . AMD HD Audio is not activated on my system !

As I'm typing, I have playback looping @100bpm ... it's on iteration 20+.  I'll leave go for a while and see what happens.

This is an old bug with some loops in Dim Pro. It's the drum loop itself, not the timeline looping that's the problem. Here's an old thread about it:
