ok...I'm ready for the virtual keyboard controller

Like in music creator 7...   just for quick, simple parts, even bass lines.  I can type just fine, thanks!!   so the qwerty keyboard should just work fine.  I'm a guitar player, so I have an excuse for playing 2nd grade keyboard parts!!

C'mon Cake...  I'm ready!

Yea, the virtual keyboard looked pretty nice in the demo Music Center project.  Useful, even.

The other DAW I've been demoing for use on my laptop (because Sonar chokes this POS) has a virtual keyboard. Very useful for trying out patches without a controller. Just clicking on the synth/instrument GUI really isn't a good way to get an idea of how a patch sounds and you certainly can't poke out melodies that way. I thought at the time when I first discovered it how nice it would be to have something like that in Sonar and almost immediately they announced it.

If it works the same (but I'm assuming it will be better) it will be great for just tossing in simple runs and chords without going through the bother of setting up my little controller (which is only 25 keys anyway).

mixmkr, go to a Chinese restaurant and open a fortune cookie. If it says "A pleasant surprise will soon come your way," then you can assume it's referring to the onscreen controller.

I know it's coming mentioned in the "what's next" and the video with music creator. My one finger keyboarding should sound just like Oscar Peterson!

Yes it is. Hence my post wishing it was ready to be released now. Craig says I have to eat Chinese first ;-)

    Two possible hold ups.

    1) This will be a newer, fancier keyboard with more options and it isn't finished baking.

    2) They are still working on integrating it properly without breaking anything.

Love the way the touch version handles modulation. Very cool.
