Dimension Pro - set_cc64

Anyone know how to get this to work?

I put:
<control> set_cc64=127
in my file and it's just seemingly ignored.  I've tried using 'sustain_sw=on' first but still no joy.

Is there any other way to turn sustain on/off in Dimension Pro without resorting to external midi controllers?

Not an expert here at all (not sure what you are doing is right or wrong).

    I can only suggest:

Make sure you are running Dimension Pro 1.5

You might try a VST reset:

    Cheers.

I think this might be more what you're after (?):
    http://forum.cakewalk.com...-sustain-m2748438.aspx

As per the thread Voices - Male v Female are good to test on (as the Female has the loop built into the flac (could be wav) which seems more effective(?)). Also as discussed you can also define the loop to the sfz.

But ... you can also do a lot with the envelope modulation itself. I read of setting one or both of Sustain (Shift+S) and Loop (Shift+L - must be set after, but on a prior node to sustain) on envelope nodes. I 'stumbled' across the menu by clicking in the information bar at the top of the envelope (see in the animated gif below). You can also zoom the timing right out with the mouse wheel (or the menu).

Also .. another tip that may be useful ...
Plogue Sforzando can load the Dimension sfzs. It has a virtual sustain pedal (bottom right of the interface) which will sound continuously until release - even on e.g, the Male voice (non looped sample).

    Have a play :)

    @ShellstaX
Side question - what app do you use to create the animated gif?
    Thanks...

Thanks for the input guys...  I'm still struggling though I'm afraid.

Just to be clear, I'm just trying to simulate the sustain pedal being pressed by using 'set_cc64=127' within the sfz file but DMPro just isn't responding to it.

A virtual pedal like Sforzando has would be a good alternative but Sforzando doesn't seem to like my sfz files.

Re Sforzando ... try importing (right click on File field / dropdown(?)) the sfz ... it may covert it(?) ... I didn't think so.

Well - a bit more of a look tonight ...
(FWIW - the sfzs work fine in Sforzando for me).

Whilst new to sfz internals, it looks like CC64 Sustain is controlled by the "loop_mode" parameter.
    Some resources:
    http://www.sfzformat.com/legacy/
    http://drealm.info/sfz/plj-sfz.xhtml
    http://www.camelaudio.com/alchemymanual/sfz-files/
    http://www.sfzformat.com/index.php?title=Main_Page

I found another way to trigger CC64/Sustain too ... after looking at this Logic video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTvwrd6Zb5I
    ...
It's via Piano Roll View (PRV)
    View > Show Controller Pane
Velocity is the default Value Type
Click on  the + or dropdown to Add a New Value Type
    Choose ... Control - 64-Pedal(sustain) - Channel 1
Use Freehand Draw / Erase / Move tools - to 'draw in' sustain start/end points (0-63 off, 64-127 on)
Little arrow markers also appear in the main track view.

(right-click > Open in New Tab for larger view)
