Hmm... on subsequent attempts, I didn't get a crash. Weird.

Here's something to try out:

Test 1: After splitting the notes to tracks, go through and change the output instrument on the split tracks to AD2 if it's not already (if it is, change it to something else, and then change it back to AD2). Any crash?

Test 2: When splitting, when the dialog box asks for what port you want, change that to whatever AD2 is - should be at least Port 1. Any crash?

I'll keep trying a few things out. It's possible that this is somehow not triggering unless SONAR is opened cold and the project is loaded right away - I did all of my tests by just closing the project rather than SONAR entirely and starting fresh.

EDIT: Nope, can't get it to crash again, no matter what I do, even on a fresh start. Very odd!

I have a feeling that CAL is touching something it shouldn't when SNTT is run. Reproducing it is probably a crapshoot, sometimes the thing it touches matters and Sonar crashes, other times it doesn't and things seem to work the way they should. It's good to know it's happening to other people and I'm not the only madman screaming from the basement.

Happens every time I try. Works in Sonar X3. Possible Windows 10, and Platinum Cal bug

Has anyone attempted to contact Cakewalk via telephone? Heck I'd do it if I could just make this crash for me.

Lord Tim: I've tried all the stuff you mentioned using Sonar Plat x64 and x86. I can't make it crash here. I'm wondering if it's a Sonar Plat issue...but still nothing on my end.

OK as I was creating this message, I decided to try a few things. On one of my machines, I can't make it crash no matter what I do. On the other machine, it crashes religiously using Plat x64 and will not crash using Plat x86.

This may be system specific but there is definitely something weird somewhere. The box that does not crash is an old Dell running ASIO4ALL drivers on Win 7 x64. I don't have x86 installed on that box. The one that crashes is my good work machine which has a killer interface. Not sure what or how this happens but I can try and pursue a few avenues to possibly get to the bottom of this. At least I can make it crash religiously. I filled out the problem reporter upon crash and supplied as much information as I could. We'll see. :)

I'll do it. It doesn't cost me anything to call there. I filled out an in depth problem reporter and included some links to a few things. Let's see how that goes and if we don't hear anything by next week, I'll call them.
