Dear Cakewalk-Team - Please improve the tool "Clean Audio Folder".

Please improve the tool "Clean Audio Folder".
This tool needs lightyears to finish searching.
Many have libraries over 1000 GB of their harddrives.
So give us the possibility to exclude certain disks from the search.

After more than 10 years and larger harddrives, the tool needs to be improved.

We digitize tapes, vinyl, dat, md ... in broadcast and studio quality for publishers, public institutions and individuals.
4 x Intel Quad-CPU, 4GHz Sonar Platinum (Windows 10 - 64Bit) and 14 computers for recording tapes, vinyl ...

As far as I'm aware it doesn't even work..

Regardless since the beginning of time this has been requested every six months or so... Not such an unusual scenario sadly.

I wouldn't dare use it. If I want to clean up the audio in a project I just save it as a new project with "copy all audio with project" checked. Voila, brand new project with no superfluous audio in the folder.

What sharke said.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

It works fine and have never had a problem with it removing stuff it shouldn't .   During a mix, I'l have a ton of interim versions of the project and when I'm finally done, I remove most of the stuff in the middle period when I was trying all kinds of stuff and keep the last few recent versions and first few early ones.    It does take a long time but it allows me to recover a ton of space before I finally archive and / or back the project  up.   I use it often

Use Tools > Cakewalk Audio Finder instead. CWAF searches only the drive you select and allows excluding folders on that drive. Plus it will clean every per-project folder on one go. Not perfect, but far more flexible and informative than Clean Audio Folder.

Used it a couple of times early on in X1, then I remember trying it again in X3. I haven't had a go with Platinum, I just want it to clean up one 500MB project folder after a long mix session with a particular song, not search my entire 3TB of storage space just to get rid of a couple of .wav files.
I'm with sharke on this one, 'save as' to a new project, then delete the old one manually. Not ideal but much quicker.
