Thanks everyone. I was finally able to repro on a fresh install of Win10 using the info that reginald Stjohn sent.

This is a temp fix until we can fix it for real, it looks like the core issue has to do with the version of IE that is embedded in Windows is no longer playing nice with the a recent Win10 update. This version just cancels the navigation event until we can sort it out.

If you're experiencing a crash in C3 when downloading/installing files please try this version: http://static.cakewalk.com.s3.amazonaws.com/command-center/CakewalkCommandCenterSetup_1.1.2.4.exe

Great glad to hear it.

Why are you guys using IE?

Because its guaranteed to be present on every Windows system and doesn't require any additional dependencies. We'll probably be re-considering that now. It would make the installer a bit bigger - but CEF might be our next stop.

CEF would be better. I am still wondering why an embedded browser is even necessary. HTTPClient and forms/xaml should be enough for what you all are doing.

Anyway, happy to help out if I can. Thanks again.

I too am having the problem Toit described. I am running Win10 Home on a new computer. I get an error when trying to install Sonar Platinum saying that CC stopped working, and Win needed to close it. I sure hope someone will find a solution to this and share it with us!
Edit: I tried the CC link in the post above, and that didn't seem to fix the problem.

Hey,
have you checked to see if any of your packages have downloaded and are now ready to install?
I had stops as well but then I checked and many packages where ready to install...

Hi! I actually got it to work! I checked Win update and I saw that I had some pending updates to install. When I installed the updates, restarted and let Win do its thing, I tried CC again and it finally worked! I don't know if this will help anyone else, but it seems like I maybe had some Win files missing or something (because of new computer).

Edit: I am happy to see some other people got it to work with the CC update!

+1 for Willy and team, -1 for Microsoft. C3 1.1.2.4 solved my problem too when upgrading from X3 to Platinum (after a recent 'final' install of Windows 10 64-bit). Hey Willy, would you mind looking at another vendor's ASIO driver next? It is now in BSOD mode after this latest 'gem' from Microsoft .

I opened a recent project, and XLN Addictive drums wouldn't load ... informing me that there was a "computer ID" issue, and that I needed to run the installer again.

I went to command center to do so, and ... BAM. I suddenly gained membership to this group. :D

While you may be experiencing an the Command Center issue. The AD problem needs to be resolved with the XLN installer not Cakewalk Command Center.

Re: Command Center has stopped working December 31, 15 6:09 PM (permalink)
Hi Willy and others,

I installed 1.1.2.4 and now the command center is working.  However, I'm getting another error message now:

C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR Platinum\Stretch.ax
Unable to register the DLL/OCX:RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0x3

So SONAR is having a problem registering the files now.  HELP!

Hi Everyone,

We ran into something similar when we were testing some internal/api changes. It looks like a Win10 auto update may be the culprit. Ryan and I were both also on Win10/x64 when it happened to us.

In any case - if you're experiencing this please try installing this build:

If this resolves the issue for you please report back and let us know so we can get it up ASAP.

Thanks and sorry for any headaches.

Edit: to fix link

Willy,
That build seems to have fixed the error I was seeing on Windows 10 Pro (x64).
thanks!

Re: Command Center has stopped working December 31, 15 8:19 PM (permalink)
Just adding one more voice to this. I did a clean install of Windows 10 two weeks ago to fix other problems (and it did! mostly.) and at that time I used Command Center to install the Sonar stuff (not everything yet, just the important parts) and everything was fine.

But Sonar crashed on me last night and I remembered there was an update so I started Command Center and tried it and... crash! I just tried installing the new version and it still crashes every time no matter what I do (Update Sonar, Install All, install just one of the other products, deleted all temp files, uninstall, reboot, reinstall).

THIS is the correct answer!!!!  THANK YOU! I only found KB3132372 and uninstalled that one, which only took about 30 seconds, didn't find the other one. So I tried CCC again without rebooting and it worked right away!

Thank you! (Merci!!)

Re: Command Center has stopped working January 01, 16 1:56 PM (permalink)
Uninstalling KB3132372 will fix it, however this isn't a great solution:

a) It's a security patch for flash, removing it makes your PC vulnerable
b) If you're on Win10 it will just re-install next time your PC updates

We've already opened a support ticket with Microsoft a few days ago about it, and you can use the temp build we put up in the interim. Short of Microsoft fixing the issue in their embedded browser , we're looking into using Chrome instead in the future.

Re: Command Center has stopped working January 01, 16 2:13 PM (permalink)
Exactly, it will just get reinstalled. That might be the best way to explain it actually: Uninstall it, do the updates in CCC, then run Windows Update again to reinstall it. Presumably, this wont be an issue again for a little while until there are more Cakewalk updates, and hopefully a solution can be found by then.
