Musikslayer Do you happen to know what the .dll version is in X3e anything? Mine is 1.2.2.246, Dean Capper said it should be 1.2.2.323. I have no idea if that matters, it's all I have to go on at the moment.
What is the name of the dll you are referring to and where are you looking? In the directory folder I mentioned, the main Sonar file is called SONARPDR.exe and has the version number 20.0.5.352 This same number is also in the cakewalk video engine CWVideoEngine.dll The remaining DLLs are all 3rd party ones and have different version numbers, none similar in structure to the ones you list. If Dean Capper says there should be a dll for the ProChannel, then there must be another directory folder somewhere. I also looked in Windows, \System32 and \SysWOW64 and found nothing with names starting with anything similar to Cakewalk, Sonar or ProChannel.

Dean explained where to look here: A shorter solution would be to remove the PCS-GlossEQM.dll file from C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\Internal then re-run the X3 installer and the X3e update. (The dll file should be version number 1.2.2.323 in the Properties > Details.) That will ensure that the correct version is installed and that your presets persist correctly.

may not make a difference but you posted above that you deleted the dll and reran the x3e update Dean suggested you rerun the x3 installer and then the x3e update

Oh, it's the EQ that's a DLL, not the ProChannel itself. Well, then we have a problem. This directory is common to all versions of Sonar and new stuff overwrites the old with each new install. My latest Sonar Platinum will have overwritten any old EQ dll from X3e. Anyway, for what it's worth, my versions are: PCS-BusCM.dll, PCS-CakeSM.dll and PCS-NukeCM.dll are all: Product Version 1.0.1.00, Date Version 1.11.1.25 and the one you want: PCS-GlossEQM.dll Product Version 1.2.3.00, Date Version 1.11.3.25 Clearly a later version. Sorry. But hey, it's working fine in my X1, X2, X3 and of course in Splat! So here's an idea... Maybe you could get hold of this version and just replace yours? It's some 8Megs in size...

Yes. Platinum is a little smelly here and there, but a better program, imo.

It just occurred to me: In the Jamaica Plain update of SPlat a fix to the EQ was included - because the shelf graphics were reversed - so maybe the EQ you have was considered current all the way up to Ipswitch. I have also looked through some old backups of my Sonar downloads, and I found a file called: ProducerX3ePatch.exe I have no recollection what it fixed, but I assume it is in the last X3e download. My Sonar exe file version number is in posting 31 above, a comparison would tell you if you have this patch.

I read on GearSlutz that this is very effective with all DAWs, not just X3, particularly since (starting with version 9) Pro Tools opened up compatibility with any deodorant - not just the ones made by Avid.

I emailed Technical Support and requested that they email this to me.

FWIW, until you can work out the specifics, I would suggest saving presets of your current EQ settings. Yeah, you may end up with a lot of presets, but at least you'll have instant recall if and when needed. Edit: Pro Channel presets, of course, since there are no per-component presets available (I wish!).

Another idea. All three versions of Sonar are available as Demo versions. Now, demo versions cannot save projects at all (nor export), but you WILL then get the latest ProChannel EQ installed. I think X3e should continue working. Mine works after having installed (and registered-there's the difference) SPlat Lexington. Get a Baker to clarify this won't destroy your X3e installation before you try it, just to be safe.

Thanks. I'll probably wait until I hear back from Tech Support. I have 96% of an album done, minus the eq of course, I'm concerned about messing it up. I'm frightened, hold me.
