Likin' the sneak preview

The new LPEQ and LPMB look pretty sweet. The options are many: M/S, pre post and both analyzer, wet/dry etc. You can see them in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyqNJhSUGfI&index=5&list=PLCPMyFyv8V04P1X0_MHBLAgjpxGhFfuKh I'm looking forward to the next update.

I hope people catch that these are VST3 only and that they are not to be confused with the (older) VST2 versions.

I'm suspecting that these new VST3 plugs will run right along side of the older VST2 plugs and that might confuse people looking for the new plugs in the VST2 menu.

Just an observation.

Ed, that is what Joey and Lance said in the video.
You'll be able to use the old ones alongside the new ones (provided  you have an older version of sonar installed).

Now all that remains to be done is to add the M/S functionality to the Quadcurve EQ.

Heh... yes please! And while we're at it, add the band solo, pre/post/both analyzer display and the mix knob, and we're basically in mix heaven!

they have the option to have the linear phase aspect disabled and to use as regular cpu friendly eq's. Also, you can have up to 20 bands of EQ and they have single band solo option.

Kind of disappointing they are wasting development resources on something that non-Cakewalk developers could do.  Anyone can make EQ plugins, but only Cakewalk can add features to the piano roll view/core Sonar/make MIDI better.

They have variable precision modes to lower the hit for tracking etc. So I guess, yes and no or maybe so.

I don't find it disappointing at all. All DAW's come with a range of stock plugins and tools, some of which are developed by the DAW manufacturer. Abelton, Live and Cubase come with their own plugins too. It stands to reason that they're updated and/or upgraded now and then.

I used to have Producer, it's now called Platinum. These 2 plugs come with Professional and Platinum. I think it's reasonable to expect that Professional and Producer versions of a DAW come with options like these. I'm really happy I don't have to go a buy a third party option for these, and also being that these are getting a little dated, that they are being maintained and enhanced.

I expect all areas to maintained and updated. Just because some areas I'm particularly interested in some areas I feel have been left behind, I certainly not going to begrudge when other areas that I don't use so much are. That feels hypocritical to me.

I would have thought that would be quite a big prochannel module. It would be interesting to see if they did it, but I can see it being a bit of a stretch

Why the limit to 6 multibands?
Especially since the competition is beyond that and the EQ already goes to a never-gonna-need-that-many 20 bands?
