[Solved] - TH3 stopped working
Hi guys Tonight I fired up TH3 and got this 'content needs licensing' error message. I'm assuming I've been previously running this in demo mode. What's the correct procedure for licensing this please? is it done through Sonar (Command Center) or by going directly to the overloud website? I'm just wondering how it 'knows' I'm licensed to use this through a Sonar purchase?  Thanks Dave edit: added [Solved] to subject - sc

Hi. Did you try the TH3 full version?
If so, I believe that you have to rollback and fourth again the Boutique FX Suite.
Either way it would not hurt to try. Hope it helps.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. I don't have the full version of TH3 - just the one that came bundled with Sonar Platinum. I've been using TH3 for a couple of weeks now but tonight everything is greyed out with this error message. I just need to know what the registration procedure is as I suspect I haven't done it. If I go to the Overloud site and simply register, how does it know what product I've got? Thanks Dave

OK so I've gone to the Overloud site and created an account. It's asking me for the TH3 serial number. Any idea where I can find this?

I asked because there was (IIRC) some people having trouble after trying the full TH3 version, which could be activated when opening TH3 SONAR edition.
You should not need a separate serial number for the Boutique FX Suite.
Do you find TH3 under programs to uninstall in Windows? If so, I believe that the full TH3 version have been activated.
You will probably then need to uninstall TH3, reboot, and reinstall the Boutique FX Suite.

Thanks for your reply. No I'm not seeing TH3 as a program in Windows to uninstall. If anyone has any advice on how to get round this I'd really appreciate it. Seem to be drawing blanks. I sensed from the lack of responses (with the exception of your goodself Zargg) that this isn't a common problem. Should I totally delete and reinstall Platinum from scratch?

I'm still not sure what you mean by 'roll back and forth' Zargg? Within command center there's just the option to reinstall Boutique. Doing this makes no difference.

It is a directory
Open Windows explorer and type "%appdata%\overloud" in the path entry or search Windows for "%appdata%\overloud"
This will resolve to the appdata\roaming\overloud folder in your user directory. Appdata is a hidden directory.

I had the same issue right after the update to TH3. I think what is causing the problem is if you unknowingly click on the "full version" trial, it gives you 30 days then requires a serial. SCOOKS suggestion worked for me, after numerous unsuccessful attempts at rolling back and forth. Good Luck!

scook you are indeed an absolute star! It worked. Not sure what caused the problem in the first place though rworkman? Certainly don't recall installing a trial version.

TH3 Cakewalk has the full version trial built in. It is pretty easy to activate the trial version.

Sure you can save the page on your PC. Most browsers have a save page option. Alternately, you can bookmark the page in the browser. save the permalink http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3493340 to a text file of tips or use the search string "site:forum.cakewalk.com yellowcake64 th3" in Google the next time.
