Beepster
For this tune I think Jarvse used Superior Drummer for the drums and Amplitude on my dry guitar tracks (he'd have to confirm). I'd definitely like to try those out (and... well tons of the other quality goodies floating out there these days) but I'm broke and seem to do okay with what I have. Takes a bit of kernoodling though but that's good for me too for the educational value.

What I REALLY need is some good mastering tools. I've been wanting to snag an Izotope package for a while (Ozone and RX specifically) and I think Melda's Spectral Dynamics would be a very usefull piece of kit.

BFD3 and TH3 are both on my list as well. NI Komplete (which Jarvse uses) would also be an awesome addition.

That's all a lot of dough for an upstart like me though. Someday.

Cheers!

I master in Wavelab Elements using various Waves and IKM plugs mainly. Not very good at it of course!

This is addictive as heroin. Now even Toontrack has tonns of -30% and so on SD kits.

But for Mastering i use EZmix2. I use lots of it in the mix too.it is sheeting in a way, but it works for me.

Good job and good collaboration!   I also liked the up/down variation in feel which brought it a nice contrast.   The guitars are pure stones to the wall and everything else seems to follow.   FWIW, the more the song went on the more I liked it.

@stevec & RogerH...

Thanks guys. :-)

@mgh... I have an ancient version of Wavelab on my old XP system (Wavelab2 I think). I never really knew what it could do so mostly just used it for tagging and converting files. I fired the system up a few weeks ago to make sure it still worked. Fortunately it does but it's in pretty rough shape so I have to yank all my old files off of it (LOTS of old recordings of my solo stuff and various band practices/shows). Once I know everything is safe I'm gonna try poking at around at Wavelab and some of the other programs on there I had no idea how to use properly.

Should be interesting to see what I can get going with those old top tier tools compared to the modern stuff I have. Maybe I can use the system for mastering.

Cheers.

New mix! Se the first post.

Sorry for being late. But I'll got time to work on it now.
I tried to fix the kick drum when their fast, and the volume of vocal on the second verse. I did some more EQ too on the kick drum. So i had to lover it by -0.4 on the meters. I dont know if they are in fact dB, so i vont use the term if their not. Feel free to correct me. That way i learn. And most of all, learn to put my ego aside.

You should change this songs title to "Dreamy Night". I dunno why, but it has a Haunting type of sound and vibe listening to it.
Enjoyed hearing this one Mate! Great stuff!

Hey, Øyvind,

Very cool Metal adaptation and great collab!

Zargg did a killer job on the vocals, Beeps' guitar tone and playing was pure dynamite, and you did a fantastic job on the bass, drums, keys and production work.

Excellent work, guys!

@Wookie, Philz, Rimshot, Bob and Serious Noize.... Thanks for listening, guys. :-)

I can't take credit for the guitar tone on this one though. I just provided the dry DI tracks and Oyvind pumped it through a fancy sim he picked up. I forget which one he said... Amplitude Mesa pack or something like that. It's pretty much exactly the tone I would have gone for but I would have to have made GR5 do some backflips to acquire it.

Cheers!

Im not good at dialing guitar sound, most plugins are comfusing where you cant use  the amps alone but have to mix allot of gear to get the tone. But AmpliTube brings back simplisity. The mesa amp sounds mesa. You donc need to mix it With tons of pedals and eq.

Beeps Your modest tho. He guided me some in direction of sound. This sound is basic mesa ractfier With a distortion stomp Box.
