Command Centre... what a breeze!

Yes,I can confirm this.
Yesterday I installed Splat via CCC on a new notebook.
Downloading , registering aso very fast in one step.......
That is the easiest concept  doing that compared to other companies

I agree as well.  Using CCC make everything easier.
 
Toontrack have just started using a similar "Product Manger", and last night it also made updating my MANY Toontrack products (and installing a new one) "a breeze".
 
It reminded me how much I appreciate the CCC.
 
The rollback feature is also excellent, not that I have needed to use it much.

Disagree.  X3e was a breeze, SPLAT took most of my day.

X3 producer was installed on the same computer.  I actually download all the files on a computer with a fast internet connection, transfered those files and put them in the proper folder for CCC to use them.

However, it would try to install, get to the very last portion, throw an error...say not successful and roll back the install process.  A search on the forum indicated that it was related to a Windows update that was needed for it to work.
 
I think it was this one:
DLL/OCX: RegSvr32 failed with exit code Ox3

Installs would stall multiple times which I'd have to stop and start over, then get the error at the end of the install that looked like it would work.  Literally hours and hours worth of work and attempts.  
 
Remember this is on a computers that X3 installed without any issue at all.  After manually uninstalling the Visuall C++ stuff a few times and re-installing.  I got it to work on a couple of my computers.  One did not install using CCC.  And I have another computer that I still can't get it to work on.

Same story here. Always downloaded and installed updates without a problem.

The issues you ran into are not related to C3 at all. 
Unlike X3, SONAR Platinum utilizes the latest VS redistributables from Microsoft. These *require* that your computer is up to date with all windows updates, esp if you are running an older OS like Windows 7.
If you follow the suggestions in the thread you linked to you will see that others resolved their install issues.
 
I realize install issues are frustrating but this one is out of our control since its managed by Microsoft and OS dependent. If you run older OS's then you need to keep them up to date.

1 computer worked fine with CCC after that
2 computers eventually worked with Manual installs of the .exe  (one of these computers still had a CCC error that basically says contact customer support).  
 
I did get it to install on all 3 computers that I use at separate times, but none of them had a flawless install even with the updates applied.  Even the one that worked fine with the CCC, it still had a few stalls and restarts before it actually worked.  
 
So I have Splat installed, but certainly the CCC was not a breeze for me personally.  
 
As someone that does not like to hook up my Studio PC to the internet, I don't like to update Windows when it is working just fine.  I appreciate the sympathy directed towards the install issues.  
 
I'm set for now.

I'm glad you got it working. I understand not wanting to update a PC when it appears to be working, esp if you are in a studio environment with clients. This approach is fine when you aren't making ANY other changes to the system such as doing software updates to other programs (like SONAR). In this specific scenario we added support for a new microsoft component that has dependencies on other updates of theirs. So sometimes the best alternative is keeping your system up to date.
Personally I have never had any major problems with Windows updates so I leave it on always. Another approach is to set aside some time periodically like once a month, to backup and then bring the system up to date fully. That way if there is an issue you can restore the system easily.
 
I'm not sure why some systems are more susceptible to update issues with the Microsoft redists than others. Perhaps a combination of other software installs and OS versions...
