Hi, I enjoyed your song. It had a very cheerful feel to it, capped off by the surprise ending. It made me smile.
John

Thanks John. I'm glad it made you smile.

Cool sparse track and lyrics with a terrific and surprising twist (no one saw that coming) made this a winner for me.  Nice work, Daryl.

a very hooky tune,
nice tight arrangment.
a bit of a nod to something between the beatles and squeeze,
that's all good.
there is a high end sheen on the voice that is a bit brittle..
probably makes it quite clear in the mix,
but may be a bit overdone.
i dig the choice of tones, they're all spot on.
good word-smithing

daryl - That is a great tune.  I immediately thought "Beetles" when I started listening.  I hope that's OK to say :)

Thanks so much Bob - it's absolutely ok to say that I sound like the Beatles

I really like your music, Daryl.  No Elizabeth on this?  Oh no,,,, still the current Mrs.Daryl1968 , right?  I think your song sounds great.  Wait, is she doing BGV?  You know there isn't anyone I know of doing music with the sound you have.  It's like retro new wave or something.  I sure can't explain it but I sure like it!

Thanks for the kind words mate.
No current Mrs daryl1968 on this one - she was taking the monkeys for a walk :)

Great...   now for the rest of the day I'll be walking around singing "Aaaa bi gail" in my head.

Mix-wise I'll also chime in re: the vocals, but you've already got that covered.   Otherwise it's got the Daryl stamp of approval with just the right place for everything and everything in its place.

And finally...   it's yet another slice of pure pop perfection.  Only this time in the form of a catnip treat.

My thoughts as well. Freakin' loved this...and meant to comment on it a few days ago and got a call in the middle. Hook is so infectious...mix is great. Modulation at 3:07 made me smile. Beatles influences in the positives here...awesome!

Like others have mentioned, vocals just need some body. A bit high endy. Great song!

Thanks so much Danny.
I keep trying to get round to remixing the vocals but life keeps happening :)

I just love this song! So clever, beautiful mix too, everything sounds perfect in its place. Brilliant job. Some Squeeze like British humour too.

Wow - thanks so much Marshall - I really appreciate it

Took me right back to when I were a lad with my ear glued to my record player listening to John and Paul.  Just lovely.  Great, great production and clever, heart tugging lyrics.  A real gem.  Just about perfect.
(and having ol Abbie herself at the end there was a cherry on top!!)

PS:  loved the organ thingy in the chorus.

Wow thanks myolpal - thank you so much for the kind words.
(Yeah, she walked in at just the right time)

WOW! Really great song Daryl. People who write and perform music like you do should be on the radio and being heard everywhere instead of all this crap that MTV plays that really aren't even songs.

Very Beatle sounding, and I mean that in a good way.

Enjoyed hearing this one very much!!!! Keep on Keepin' on my friend!!!

I love the vocals and the way they sound! And the harmonies are awsome! Great work with the mix and cool arrangement too.

The best part for me is the vocals.. They sound kind of unique.. (can I say that?). Anyway. I love unique!

Outstanding!  This is one of the best tunes you have ever done, in my humble opinion, Mister Daryl.  I really enjoyed it.  Listening for the third time now.  What a clever, original idea!

Thank you for sharing your fine music with us.

Best,

Larry Alexander

Wow thanks Mister Larry - you are a gentleman and a scholar
