I have a Presonus AudioBox 1818VSL interface, and it works fine on Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 for me.  They did issue an annoucement that the VSL software has been deprecated, but that only drops the little mixer UI, which I never used anyways.  You now control it through the DAW, and that works fine.

I cannot speak to other units of theirs, nor can I speak much to the 1818VSL, other than to say that they were quite kind to me, when my 5 year old 1818VSL developed a hardware error, and their $155 out of warranty charge for repairs didn't result in it working again, nor did an additional return fix it - that they then shipped me a completely brand new 1818VSL audio interface, which works perfectly for me now.  That was pretty nice of them.

I will be taking a look at the 192 in another 6 months or so, but may well end up with some RME model or Focusrite, both of which have sterling reputations for stability and driver support.  I really want to end up with a combination of a new interface and a new 8-port ADAT-capable expansion unit - to get me to 16 mic/instrument inputs with good pre-amps.  (I currently have the 8 inputs from the 1818VSL and its expansion unit, so I do still have 16, but these are indeed older models, and I want brand new solid technology.

All of that being said - I am quite happy with what I have now.

What's the latest chatter on this unit and the mobile version? I'm in the market for a mobile device in the price range and hardware class of the 192 Mobile, but I apparently can't work with either of the two devices I originally set out to purchase (Motu's Ultralight Mk3 Hybrid or the AVB Hybrid) due to their apparent issues with USB 3.0 ports; my Surface Pro's 3 & 4 only have USB 3.0.

So, this leaves the 192 Mobile as the remaining consideration being that it is designed for the one interface these Microsoft units have? So are there still those talked about latency issues with the 192 Mobile, or has this become a moot point?

I have had the 192 for 9 months now. I finally had some time to really dig in and made some discoveries. If you do live recordings or straight audio projects this is a great unit. However if you use virtual instruments this is not the interface to purchase. This sucks for me as I use virtual instruments a lot. With the use of any virtual instruments my rtl went from 10ms (audio only project) all the way up to 60ms. This was because to stop cracks n pops I had to turn the block size up to 1024. I also have a focusrite 6i6 nexgen and am at a stable 5.5 rtl on audio only projects. When i introduce virtual instruments u have to bump it up to 10ms. I'm thinking about getting the MOTU 624 in hopes of a replacement of the 192 as for me it is a lost investment. Hope this helps.
