Uninstalling Platinum without affecting X3e or older versions/plugins

Hi friends!
I would like to uninstall Command Center and Platinum, but am afraid it might uninstall or "mess up" my X3e or older plugins or shared components I may need. Has anyone uninstalled Platinum/Command Center without it affecting previous versions? Please advise and thanks in advance.

Just wondering why you want to do this?

I'm not questioning your need to do it, but knowing "why" might help with advice as to "how".

Because I don't want it on my computer. The reason shouldn't matter. Just wondering if anyone has uninstalled and had issues with remaining versions.

Hi pinguinotuerto.

There were some issues with uninstalling the Platinum demo. They have probably been resolved,  but there was a workaround anyway. See this thread:

Okay.

Wasn't sure if it was the Demo, or not, as Tenfoot mentioned.

I just wanted as much information as possible before I gave any advice.

Good luck, hope it works out well.

Turns out uninstalling the Platinum Demo did screw up my X3e by uninstalling some shared components like the VSTscanner, so beware.  It also messed up my export audio feature which I corrected in the registry by following Noel's advice to another user (tenfoot posted a link regarding this issue a few answers above http://forum.cakewalk.com/Heads-up-X3-Users-Who-Are-Checking-Out-The-Platinum-Demo-60-day-trial-m3385788.aspx). I had to reinstall the X3e update in order to get the shared components back (thanks scook).
