Sharing Drivers glitch...

So the Sonar share drivers option used to work a treat...but after this last update, whenever I go out of Splat, to another app, and then back to splat, all I get is a delay in the project starting (pressing space bar) and no sound. This never happened before the last update, and NOTHING else has been changed. Seriously!!

The only fix seems to be shutting down both apps, then restarting Sonar.

    soundcard, os ?

so you have gone to preferences and checked "share with other drivers" ?

you might want to try adjusting your latency size on recording/playback.
    sounds like a buffer issue.

hmmm, yes possibly and it was why I checked all the "usual suspects". But nothing has been changed in either Splat the other app or the PC. The ONLY thing changed was the last update to Splat...

You should try a quick roll-back to confirm the last release doesn't have the same issue, and the problem isn't project-specific or due to something else you just haven't yet identified.

With Cakewalk releasing monthly updates, it's inevitably going to be the most recent known change in a lot of cases. But there's nothing in the release notes for 2016.07 that sounds like it would have a bearing on this, and no one else has mentioned encountering anything like this that I recall, except for playback problems after the Anniversary update of Win10.

thx Brundle - yes I did notice not many others reporting this, although I am not sure how many actually swap between apps on a regular basis...maybe lots???

afaik, anniversary edition has not installed (I have manual updates setup) , unless it snuck through without me seeing haha!

I might try the rollback and see what happens.

    cheers
