Thanks guys................Chuckebaby suggests "Grab all your faders and turn them down a little bit." Seems simple enough. Would I put all the tracks on a group and turn down one?

Yes whilst holding down the control key. But it won't work with any tracks with volume envelopes

It's a good point BJ makes, anything with automation will simply snap back. 1- Don't select any tracks / or select all tracks 2- Hold CTRL down 3- Grab a fader and pull them down slightly do you have any metering plug ins ? its not a deal breaker but it helps.

So..... I refer you back to my post #22 where I described how to use Offset Mode to lower all of your tracks simultaneously by a fixed amount. This is a LOT easier than lowering them all manually and then having to deal with volume envelopes.

I find a good metering plug in helps get more pin point precision. you can use Sonars meters. not a problem. I just prefer and suggest to others a good metering plug in can help a great deal in finding small differences in RMS, Peak and even the K System. I mention small difference, but those small changes are the difference between a great mix and an outstanding mix. remember a meter is one of the most important tools you have. its second next to your ears which should always be trusted. but a visual is an absolute must to know your hearing what your seeing is correct.

OK Bristle...thanks. Chucke, can you recommend a good metering plug in? Lastly...just for my own edification, why can't you just turn your Master output down when levels are undesirably high? Are you in jeopardy of a cold output? Perhaps, the reason is, you wouldn't have addressed the hot input feeding the Master? Just curious?

Running your MB at 0dB means your are getting the full benefit of whatever your converters can deliver.
