Can someone tell me WHERE the link to purchase the Sonar Tips book is?

The "now available" link posted above in the original post, does not seem to lead to a book.

just go to the cakewalk store and type in big book in the search box and it will take you there. (can't seem to be able to post a link that actually takes you there)

I also used a free site: http://pdf2mobi.com/ that takes the PDF, and makes it into a Mobi file for easy reading on your phone, or tablet.

BTW, something that I already asked for and think would be of great help to lots of people, owners of Sonar and evaluators alike:
3 to 10 full Sonar Projects, from simple one, to realistic 100+ track projects, using exclusively the Vstis, effects, plugins that are included with Sonar Platinum (lifetime), plus of course audio & midi files.
Today, mostly, we have only the Javier Colon project, which is great but not very big.

Why ?
- To benchmark
- To learn
- To understand how it works
- To reference for bugs, questions, improvement requests, tips sharing with other musicians of the community
- For Craig and other as a basis for their books and tips: can reference a projet, reader can directly try, which is much more efficient to learn as simply reading (doer vs spectator).

I would gladly pay a few bucks for the priviledge, if that's what it takes.

I asked Cakewalk about posting demo projects. Download costs for Cakewalk really add up with big files, but they're not against the idea if it provides enough value to the community.

That would be cool
My guess is that if there were to be a vote for or against here on the forum, the majority would say %@&& Yeah

The tracks on my new "Simplicity" album are all-SONAR, use a lot of SONAR techniques, and aren't outrageous in terms of tracks. The only wrinkle might be my using the Concrete Limiter and some Platinum-only stuff.

I'll send a couple projects to Cakewalk and see what they think. If any of you listen to the album (follow the link) and have suggestions for particular songs, that would be helpful.

I purchased it a week or two ago. Had a quick skim through, but had no time to delve deep yet.

Question: Will the book be updated with the latest tips and tricks for latest Sonar versions periodically? And if so can we just redownload the latest version without re-purchasing?

Great work Craig. Where do you find the time for all your endeavors?

Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

Frankly, I haven't thought that far ahead! Meanwhile, you can think of "Friday's Tip of the Week" as updates to the book.

I do think it will be quite some time before there's a revised version. What it's worth will depend on what goes into it. If the book is a complete rewrite, I assume it would be sold as a new book. But if it's mostly a revision with additional new material, probably what would be fairest to all concerned is to offer a significant discount to people who own the existing book, and sell it at full price to first-time buyers.

Great idea for demos.  Really simple stuff.  Download costs can be mitigated by using MIDI only at first, and then maybe a vocal.  IF you wanted one of those 100 track demos for orchestration you could pay a download charge so Cake doesn't get stuck w/ a lot of costs.

Esp. with the emphasis we've seen with new users SONAR for Dummies would really help them and help Cake keep them.

I could not agree more!! And, excellent suggestion about MIDI only at first. Also, the audio tracks could be MP3 or Ogg Vorbis. After all, it's not going to be released on polyvinyl records...

I know of established companies that use Dropbox, Google Drive, and the like to host their downloads. Image Line uses Google Drive as one of their hosts for FL Studio downloads. File hosting can be free or cheap, so that doesn't seem like it should be a barrier.
