The best combination of efficiency and quality will be achieved by enabling Audiosnap Clip Follows Project on all existing audio clips before lowering the tempo, and then enable Melodyne as a Region FX on the new clip before restoring the project tempo to 'stretch' (actually compress) the newly recorded part to the higher tempo. Then 'Bounce to Clip' the new clip to render the Melodyne stretching permanent.

The Audiosnap stretching of existing clips will only be temporary so quality isn't critical while Melodyne will generally deliver the best result for 'stretching' the new clip.

Try to use the smallest tempo change you can manage. The less extreme the tempo change, the better the result will be. Ultimately, the quality of the result will depend on the nature of the instrument and the style of the part.

Be warned that any tempo or pitch changing of audio involves the processing and rendering of the original audio. My experience is that degrading of the audio quality will result.
But if the material is midi then of course this does not happen.  Midi tempo and pitch is easily changed over and over.
One solution to maintain better quality is you can record parts as audio at a slower tempo, use Melodyn to convert your audio to midi and then hopefully find a VST that sounds close to that instrument. Then you can pick any tempo your heart desires without compromising quality.

i not said easy but yes there is a full support for eny questions. you can call and instead of speand time, somebody goona give you good service! i wish sonar was like that but its so not like that. all supporte you have its the forum. you pay for software and you get what you payed for. im so happy with my purchase. im happy to know that ill have a phone number for any questions that ill have. also try to search on youtube about bpm change sonar. and search Same thing on protools and you will see how fast you get answers with protools. and with sonar you become crazy. you need to use with external software for bpm change etc. crazy. i know you like sonar but its not for me. also pro tools its not so complicated like you think. its for beginners and also for pro. you can read abut it. im not try to fight with you. its only my very poor experience and i cant work with a pro software that doesn't has a professional bpm change. with pro tools you do it easily. and also its mor profasional. find out what is better. sonar or prootols. search on google. good luck im leaving.

its no different in pro tools than it is in sonar.
Its in the elastic menu in pro tools and its in the clip inspector in sonar.
just save us all the hassle of reading threw your some what "painful to read" comments and be real.

there is no difference. your utilizing clip properties to change audio pitch.
if your beef is with support, I can respect that. but be aware pro tools support isn't as good as you think it is.
