Missing file "info" in Project drop down menu

After downloading the second latest version of Sonar Platinum (haven't downloaded latest version... too scared to because there is always something changed which I liked the way it was), I went to open my project info page (Project > Info), but the info tab was not there in the project dropdown menu any more.

Anyone know where it went?

Thanks noynekker

I followed the link you posted. I found it in the browser section but it is all too convoluted for me—it comes up too small, then you have to dock it to make it full page then you can’t use the shortcut “D” key to go back to Track View because the D gets typed as a letter in your notes.

One of the posts in the thread you linked me to says, quote: “It's now the "Notes" tab in the assignable button module.” Are we talking about the custom module of the toolbar? If it is there in any of the lists can anyone direct me to it? I tried looking in the lists of menus and commands but couldn’t find it.

Dilaco1 . . . It would be a great addition to the customizable Control Bar shortcut buttons, but it's not there, I can't see it either . . . and I don't see anything like an  "assignable button module" for the notes either . . . it's just there in the browser, plain and simple. I've used it to paste some lyrics into, but not much else, since there's not much customization, yet ?

Regarding the font size, it's curious that when you click on track view the font is smaller, and when you click on browser view to add notes the font gets automatically larger. If you're on a laptop, or smaller, with a hi res screen setting, it's true the font size may make it hard to use for anyone over 55 ?

I often use the info page to take pretty extensive notes both for tracking and mixing. I want it to be one click away as a full page, not hiding in the browser and coming up as a tiny window to the side of my screen. I don’t want to have to do the extra clicks to bring up docking option menus to make it full screen. When it docks it doesn’t even say ‘Notes’ or ‘info’ as a tab at the bottom of the screen, it is labelled ‘Browser’. Plus the term ‘Notes’ is ambiguous in a music program where notes are what you play on an instrument.

I’m a bit tired of this ‘moving the goal posts’ with every update. It seems, for the way I work anyway, that every new change is to my detriment. It’s not just different, it’s worse and I can see no advantage in the change.

Personally the only reason I use to occasionally update is because the previous version was not compatible with some new third party plug in, or because of a bug that was ironed out in a new version. If compatibility and bugs were not an issue I would cheerfully return to Sonar 8.5, my favourite version of Sonar.

Dilaco1 . . . I surely hear what you're saying, it's like an old existing feature that's just moved to a different location inside the same software, but it just makes for more mouse clicks for those of us who are always trying to reduce the mouse clicks.

I hope this update means that they have moved it in order to improve it in a future update, and not just merely a re-shuffling of existing features ?

I can't exactly remember when it was added . . . but another great "notes" feature was added fairly recently to Sonar Platinum . . . you can add per-track notes in the "Inspector View" . . . I like this, and use it all the time.

Yes, less clicks is always better.

Thanks for the heads up on the per track notes thing; took me a while but I found it under track properties.

Still want my old info page back with its 2 click access. Instead of just shifting it to a new location and squishing it to the size of a matchbox, how about an option for some font variation - like italic or bold, or red or blue, or bigger/smaller? I'm not talking Office Word, just a few basic font options.
