Metronome Not Sounding

Has anyone experienced this? I have it set identically to every other project. Double checked every setting. The metronome just won't sound in either playback or recording. ???

Hold down Ctrl+Shift when launching SONAR. It'll re-personalize and probably copy over the missing metronome files.

I had this issue for several weeks in February. Two weeks ago, I got it working. Quite baffling, but Seth's Ctrl+Shift solution does not sound familiar. I don't even remember what worked for me. Some days most things don't work.

Interesting. Mine seems to work fine, but then on location or in the studio the drummer wants a different sound and louder. I make the tweak, and then no sound. Have yet to find a workaround. Have had to stop the session and beat out a click track on my keyboard and we follow that. What is this?

Thanks, Seth, tried it but the metronome must have been really upset with me as it refused to talk to me at all!

Yeah, this is crazy making. I just killed the project file and created a new one. Not solved, but dealt with. :)

Hi, this happens to me from time to time.
To fix I disable all FX by hitting the disable all FX button , then re-enable.
    Works for me everytime.
However I've started using audio files as my metronome... hi-hat loops etc

Windows 10 x64, 16 gb RAM,i7 4.2GHz, 250GB Samsung SSD for OS/Programs, SSD for current projects,  1TB Disk for audio and backup project files, RME UCX interface on USB, ASUS motherboard, dual screen setup with latest AMD FX 5450 catalyst drivers for graphics, Cakewalk by Bandlab. Samson Graphite 49 keyboard.

There was a known bug (I submitted a problem report) where the metronome would stop functioning if disable FX button was enabled while modifying the metronome settings.  Enabling / disabling the FX disable again seemed to resurrect the metronome.  I don't recall this being fixed yet, but could be wrong.  Not sure if this fits your symptoms, but more details here:  http://forum.cakewalk.com/Audio-Metronome-stopped-working-when-settings-were-modified-all-FX-were-bypassed-m3536508.aspx

Thanks, guys. If it happens again I'll head to the FX enable/disable and see if that's the culprit!

Where are the metronome files normally located?

    C:\programdata\cakewalk\sonar [version]\metronome

On personalization it gets copied to

    C:\users\[username]\cakewalk\sonar [version]\metronome
