I have a basic AD2 grove clip pulled out as back click. I would like to converting it into an audio track. I would like to use the buss it is sent to or the main out buss as the render point I can't seem to find a way to record the buss onto an audio track.
I thought I had din that in the past.
So id there a way to record a buss onto a wav track?

Realtime recording of synth output is now possible.  No need to bounce down or freeze.  That thread was from a time before this was possible.

The most basic way is just insert a new audio track, and using the audio track input dropdown, select the output from AD2 that you want to record. Arm the track for recording and start recording.

There are also some more routing options you could use for buses with the new patch points and aux buses if you want to get fancy.

I never said it couldn't be done. I'm asking if it's faster than the other methods.

    well excuse me . . .

maybe 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other, but i think the main thing is you can record the audio output of your vsti live

it was added back aways, not before time as the ability had been available in other daws for ages

your stated reading skills would be put to good use by reading release notes on added features perhaps?

    and you . . .

your reply to the other dude "Really? Post #16 says something different." could quite rightly be construed as you are saying, 'really this says your talking $417"

then i just pointed out that what you linked to to back up your argument was from 2015, which meant perhaps the quote you were using to back yourself up with was prior to the feature being added, to which replied "Yeah, I can read. Real-time recording is faster now?" to which i replied saying the other dude was correct, to which you replied "I never said it couldn't be done. I'm asking if it's faster than the other methods." which by your comment "Really? Post #16 says something different." could be taken as you were saying it couldn't be done, because that is what you were actually implying by that statement.

and i did contribute, i answered the question you asked about speed, and gave more info one one of it's main uses. as to the rest, taking into account that the written word may make emotions etc hard to guage, you get back what you give.

    have a nice day

The best info I have seen on the AD2 track template is here in the Cakewalk Knowledge Base:
    https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013364/Setting-up-a-Drum-Map-for-Addictive-Drums-2-in-SONAR

If you use this template, and follow this track info, you should be able to figure out exactly what you want to record:

"Track 15 is your MIDI track, which you can use to input the MIDI data for Addictive Drums 2. You can also insert any beat directly from Addictive Drums 2 onto track 15 by clicking the “Beats” tab in the upper-right corner of Addictive Drums 2, highlighting any beat and dragging it to Track 15.

The first track is a Master Track, which outputs all the sound from Addictive Drums 2 onto one stereo track. Most of the subsequent tracks are mono outputs for each individual drum from Addictive Drums 2, allowing you to process the audio from each drum kit piece individually. For convenience, the Overhead, Room, and Bus tracks are all formatted as stereo as well (as indicated by (ST) on the respective tracks. Note that processing in SONAR on any of these tracks will not affect how the AD2 Master (ST) track will sound; only processing within Addictive Drums 2 will affect the way this track sounds. This provides for lots of versatility, as you can use this track for things like parallel processing, having a dry track to compare to, or even having it muted altogether so you can monitor the individual kit pieces only."

Synth recording was added to Sonar in September 2015, followed by aux tracks and patch points in October 2015.
