My thread just got deleted... twice?

I'm trying to post in the SONAR forum about whether X3 is compatible with Windows 10 (and I list some specs as well). But it seemed to have removed my post two times in a row!! What gives?

I bet it's Aksimet mistaking something in your post for spam. See this thread;

Yes , I know the Pain Well
it can be very frustrating to have posts thrown in the trash for no apparent reason ...
I had  that happen twice a couple of days ago ...

One thing that I did learn that would be helpful for you to consider ...

When and if you do decide to ask a forum host for help ..do as I say here now .... not as I did
I kept asking a very helpful forum host for help in getting my missing posts back up posted on the forum ..
He bent over backwards to help me at least a dozen times so far ...
He said something in a PM that hadn't crossed my mind ...
He mentioned to me that it would make his job much easier if I would just name the title of the thread or post a link to the thread where my post got muched like I said ..I was making it unnecessarily hard for him to help me ...
I have since changed my Evil Way's

good luck , all the best ,

Kenny

I had it happen 3 or 4 times last week.  I had to wait an hour or two and repost.  Maybe it's a technical glitch?

It better be, since most computers now have it ... it would be totally stupid and out of line, if it was not compatible and did not work with it ... specially when W10 is actually better than the previous versions. Way more stable in my machines than the W8 and W8.1 stuff.

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

My current copy of Windows 7 is OEM (locked to this motherboard and product, can't transfer it), but I'm building a new system with a new motherboard and everything so I have to get a new OS - unfortunately, Windows 7 isn't really out there anymore, and Windows 10 can be had for significantly cheaper than Windows 7 Pro if I get the Home Edition. They're only offering Pro these days, it seems.

But I'm totally down for saving that $40 and putting it towards something more useful in my new build rather than re-buying a slightly better version of the OS I already have for added features that I'm never going to use! Just not sure whether SONAR is going to run on Windows 10!

You guys see my situation? (Also - I'm really not thinking to upgrade X3 either. Already sinking about $550 into this build and I'm not even buying a new case or hard drives and keeping pretty much all other on-board components that are compatible.)

I'm not saying X3 won't work with W10, in fact I'm pretty sure it will judging by threads I've read 'upstairs'. As long as your interface has W10 drivers, should be no problem.

Cool, figured that actually!  I just didn't wanna take the risk and drop a chunk into a system I'd only use once in a while for gaming or something. I searched for hours last night but for whatever reason, couldn't find the info I wanted.
Looks like the PreSonus Firepod has Windows 10 drivers as well and people got it working successfully.

When I first got X3 I had placed it on a Win 8 64 machine ...ran it that way for a year or so ...
Then I did an in place Win 10 upgrade on the same computer and went from Win 8 to Win 10 64H E..
X3 worked like a champ ...
X3 PE works fine in Win 10 64 ...Honestly at the time I've never had it so good...
I held out for a while as SPlat was coming out with updates that had features that I wanted ..
Then I jumped on SPlat a year plus late ....I noticed right off the bat that SPlat was setup to work great with Win 10
It was pretty common knowledge that Noel and Cakewalk were working closely w MS.. to integrate SONAR w Win 10 ..
Someday you may want to pick up SPlat ...Cakewalk keeps optimizing SONAR for that OS ...
In the mean time X3 is still a very good version of SONAR to have ... I still have it on the machine I mentioned ...

That's good to note then! My next build is WAY more 'modern' and powerful  than my current 10-yr-old system., so hopefully X3 will be EVEN MORE stable than it is now, if all goes well. It's been absolutely impressive on Windows 7 thus far, even running with really good latency and minimal dropouts and crashes, even for stuff that's a decade old. I may well look into moving to a new edition of SONAR, but that likely won't be for a year or two.

After all this research and time spent in computers though, I'm finding that really the only things that are going to need major upgrades with the changing times/requirements of software are motherboards and CPU's (as well as, of course, drivers, OS, and some mechanical parts that breakdown after heavy use), as long as weird proprietary stuff doesn't suddenly shift the whole market over to new types of connectors and stuff. But even then, even if it's old - if it runs fast, it runs fast!
(Don't quote me on this. Obviously things can always be upgraded, but basic components like wireless cards and stuff can stay in-place for decades or more without problems)

Out of curiosity, has anyone had a post deleted in the Coffee House?  Based on what I've seen, I'm guessing Aksimet is too scared to come down here...

I couldn't find your deleted posts, Dave. Give me a clue as to where they are and I'll be happy to rescue them from the dustbin.

EDIT: Oops, I just realized you were trying to start a new thread, not post to an existing one. Duh. Sorry, can't help with that.

Yep, several times. I've also had  the situation where the original post is accepted but editing it afterwards then deletes it. Also the go to last post doesn't work any more for me. I've tried switching browsers and it makes no difference. It doesn't even go to the last page a lot of the time, let alone the last post. Seems like somebody somewhere has been fiddling with the settings and well and truly cocked it up.

Windows 10 is a free upgrade for owners of windows 7 and 8. As I owned both of those, I got it twice for both my mega PC and cheapskate backup PC.

Are you sure it is still? Mind sending a link?
Still though - mine's an OEM license, which means I won't be able to use/transfer the license to another motherboard because it's tied to the motherboard it's originally installed on. Knowing that, I'll just have to go ahead and bite the bullet and shell out the $100.
