No need to rush to install Windows 10 Creators Update (MS will begin pushing out Apr 11th)
There's no compelling reason to upgrade yet. If being a beta tester is your thing, go right ahead.  But I'm waiting a few months before I step in. It's going to be 4 months before this new version is cleared to become the "Current Branch for Business". Microsoft says it will begin pushing out the Windows 10 Creators Update, aka version 1703, on Tuesday, April 11, to anyone who has not disabled updates. I'm updating right now. I'm a computer daredevil. I just can't wait, lol. I'll report back if there are any issues. UPDATE1: This has been a painfully slow update. After about 1.5 hours it is done but there is 100% activity on drive C, so I assume it is doing a defrag. I'm going to let it run all night and let it finish its housekeeping. I will run Sonar tomorrow and report back here my findings. UPDATE2: XLN is broken, will have to reauthorize. A quick try with Sonar and it seems to be working but it also seems to be using a little more CPU than previous. I will try it again tonight and post more details.

I'm assuming that having "Defer feature updates" checked in advanced update options takes care of delaying it by 4 months. Is this correct? I think it worked that way with #1607 (anniversary update).

"Defer Feature Updates" is supposed to postpone major upgrades like "Anniversary Update", or "Creators Update". I am not sure for how long the deferral lasts. I think it can vary, based on your version and settings. I use the Win 10 Pro policy editor to "Disable automatic updates" which prevents me from seeing the option that you are referring to. "Disable automatic updates" stops them all dead, unless I manually check for updates. Which, in my case: (1) manually check for updates first with the "wushowhide" Windows Show or Hide Updates utility https://www.tenforums.com...ates-windows-10-a.html(2) hide any feature updates offered, and anything else that I deem unwanted (3) check and install the monthly updates or anything else not hidden in previous step

Anybody have more details on what's included that might be of interest to DAW users? I wish they would just make it easy to see a more-detailed change log.

In my opinion, there are two kinds of DAW users. Those that value stability of their system above all else, and those who must have the latest thing. Not saying one is better than the other, they just have different needs. I'm in the first group, although I am a Windows geek. I build my own systems and value stability and reliability first. I would rather focus on fixing my own hardware f-ups, rather than backing out some Microsoft induced software bug. Philosophically speaking, does one create music with Windows, or their DAW application? In my opinion Windows is just an OS framework to hang your DAW on. Once you fire up your DAW, you really don't see much of the OS anymore. Technically speaking, Cakewalk probably does most of it's Sonar development and testing with the current release of Windows 10, while trying to get ahead of the game in preparation for Microsoft's next release. The catch here is that there is a 4 month window for every new Windows 10 feature release where it is really in a pseudo public "beta" status. After the bug reports have rolled in and been patched by MS, it will eventually be declared the "current branch for business" (CBB), which is when the IT guys will be rolling it out to their users. Right now, the latest CBB version is 1607 (Anniversary). Microsoft will be providing concurrent support for three versions rolling forward, so right now 1511, 1607, and the new Creators update (1703) are all supported. When Creators makes it to CBB, then MS will probably drop support for 1511. So you can't straggle too far behind if you plan to stay with a currently supported OS.
