Well, "I" just got a couple of texts with new images of my custom guitar being made! The top has been carved and OH MY does it look great! First progress in months. Unfortunately, my main home computer has been dying slowly (hardware-wise) so I just bought a nice system off of Mylist (i.e., Craigslist) for a really nice price and will attempt to get it up to speed tomorrow - then I can transfer the images from my phone so I can upload them and show them off!
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

Time to start a new forum fight? Maybe it's time to express my love for Soundblaster soundcards, and how the rest of you are fools for constantly upgrading to the bleeding edge of technology?

Soundblasters sZck!! On a serious note, I changed out my beloved US-16x08 for a Behringer UMC1820. While the IO config isn't as nice, the Behringer is solid. I wish the 16x08 was. It's now collecting dust hoping for some future driver update that will fix its glitches.

Sounds like Behringer is improving their quality. I had one of their smaller mixers for a while and it was complete garbage. After getting into it a couple of times to re-solder connections, I gave up on it.

I had one of those built-like-a-tank MX802a mixers for 15+ years before one channel quit. As far as current quality goes ... I bought a UMC404 to try out to determine whether or not the 16x08 was actually the source of my pain. It arrived operating mono only. I didn't realize this until after the retailer return window closed. I RMA'd it. After 6 weeks they informed me they didn't have repair parts or a replacement 404, that I would have to wait another 2 months. I raised Hades. They finally comp'd me the 1820 at no additional cost to shut me up. So I had a) failed new unit and b) lousy support. While I'm happy with the 1820, the support infrastructure has Behringer off of my list for future gear acquisition.
