What happened to the Cubase crossgrade offer thread?
I was just posting a reply to the thread and it vanished? Why would it be deleted?
Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

I have Cubase 7.5, upgraded from 7.0. The only thing good I found about Cubase is the chord track. Everything else is a PIA to use. The program is clunky and not user friendly at all, I'll keep using Sonar till it doesn't work anymore, by that time, maybe something will come along that suits my work flow better than Cubase. Unless Cubase has made some major changes since 7.5, it's a no go for me.

I used Cubase many years ago and had issues with it, mainly stability and crashing. That's how I ended up here. I also didn't like the fact that you have to pay for every update. I'm sticking with Sonar while it works but I will get another DAW to learn if it's a good deal. I'm favoring Studio One, but there are some nice features in Cubase and a better community, better hardware support etc.

There are be a lot of major changes in Cubase since 7.5 In the next days there will be a Demo from the 9.5. But my heart is by SONAR.

I hear you. The crossgrade deal seems a bit fake to me at the moment. I'm in Europe but not seeing anything about a dedicated crossgrade deal for Sonar users on their site or online shop. It's just the standard crossgrade offer that applies to all DAWs and is the usual price. I wonder if they are just hoping Sonar users will fall for it and think they are getting a special deal when they are not. I wouldn't be surprised. Steinberg are tight arses which is something else that puts me off Cubase.

Is there such an offer from Sonar? Cubase 9.5 looks promising.

bitflipper Do you mean this one? Or this one?
No, there was another one in the Sonar forum that had quite a few replies going on. It just suddenly vanished!

I am satisfied with the half price from the normal crossgrade.

" Steinberg has decided to offer all Cakewalk Sonar Platinum and Professional customers a dedicated 50% off welcome offer on Cubase Pro." More here. Cubase Pro 9.5 Full Version 579 € 50 % off = 289,5 € Crossgrade price = 289 € So it's not very "dedicated offer", it's their "Competitive Crossgrade" which was already for sale before they made that announcement. But whatever... that offer is good enough for me. I will not isolate my OS, other software and plugins from the internet just to keep on using abandoned DAW. I have projects to finish. And for those who keep on sayin' that it's too early to jump ship... let me tell you: this ship [Cakewalk Sonar] has already sunken. You will notice it sooner or later. S/S Microsoft will not sail to rescue anyone.

I think you may be right, but I'm not seeing any water around my ankles just yet so I don't see the point in jumping off a dry deck into the cold, wet ocean. In any case, I have a hunch that Sonar and other Cake software assets have already gone to Microsoft.

Why do you think assets have gone to Microsoft?
