Cakewalk Server Timeline?

It would help if we had, at least, some kind of 'business as usual' assurance.

Say a sticky thread of "Sonar servers cleared to operate through April 2019" or something.

Sonar user for 20 years.  I could do a trial build without online download/activation, every 6 months?

Not sure how to proceed, maybe can keep Sonar Platinum running for years?  Or bite the bullet and move to Cubase or FL Studio?

Great another thread!
Around 1800 posts to read here, might have already been asked I suspect .

There is no timeline read the FAQ
There is a plan should the servers go offline.
There is no reason to discuss this any further at this time.
If you wish to continue this discussion. I can move this thread to the general discussion area.

No one knows and no one will say how long the server will stay up. My best guess is that CCC and activations etc will remain for at least a year after the last Cakewalk product was sold. However, it doesn't cost much to keep a server running hosting the latest versions of the software, the CCC API, the customer database, and forum. So I guess they could keep it going until any major maintenance costs crop up, at which point, they will probably say "f*ck it" and pull it offline. That may not happen for a long time. On the other hand, if Gibson can't pay off their debtors by the deadline and fold, the plug will be pulled there and then with no warning!

Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

If they gave us a timeline then they would have to stick to it. Something im not sure is in their control.
They did mention if the servers go down they will have a fix for that.
However its not Cakewalk im worried about, its Gibson. We are all in the same boat. We know as much about the future of the Servers as we do Tom Brady's finger.

well one of the servers already said bye-bye, the blog was it? said to be because the contract ran out and wasn't renewed (obv) so it's probably the same deal with the other servers - once the hosting contract expires... and that should be quite easy for one of the transition team to check and share, but not necessarily a good business move

just a sec
