@azslow3, your forum security question is not friendly. I have no clue "Which program class (3 characters) is used to create a music on computers?" I am not a programmer, I have no reason to know this.

DAW: Cakewalk by Bandlab (latest version) - x64
VST: Roland Sound Canvas VA
Hardware: Roland MC50mkII Sequencer; Yamaha DGX-660 keyboard; Steinberg UR-44 Interface
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit

hmmm... I would not have considered that a "class" in programming.  It's an acronym for Digital Audio Workstation, which is still not a class; it's a label for software.  But thanks.

English is not my primary language. If you know any synonym for "a class of programs", I will replace the question.
There are programming IDEs, graphic manipulation programs, waveform editing programs, DAWs, audio players, video players, server daemons, etc.

You write you are not a programmer, at the same time you interpret the word "class" as something related to classes in object oriented programming languages

Finally, you do not have to register on my site till you want post some question there or start public discussion. PM is not a problem in this or Cockos forums, everything from my site can be downloaded and used without registration.

Finally, in more then 5 years you are the first one who had problem with this question...
Some users of my forum have problems with captchas. Without questions there was too much spam (I still periodically get it, but not at annoying level).

Thank you for your response.  I was a Web developer for many years (1999-2015), and worked extensively with Web languages such as HTML and CSS.  I have also worked with Javascript, PHP, and MySQl, so the concept of "classes" is familiar to me.  However, I have never worked with Fortran, Assembly, C++, or other more complex programming languages.  That's why I say I'm not a programmer.  But I guess I am to a small degree.

Two suggestions. :)
"Which type of application (3 characters) is used to create music on computers?"
or
"Which type of software (3 characters) is used to create music on computers?"

That is probably because of my experience with Web development, and using correct phrases to avoid confusion in that line of work.  One wrong word can cause chaos in the computer world.

Thank you again for your reply, and explanation.

I've tried 5 times at least to post a reply but it's not showing up.  Even after refreshing the page.  :-(

It is an automatic process. The rules for deleting posts are not visible to hosts. It was set up by Cakewalk. I doubt anyone from BandLab is monitoring the process.
