Worked ok for me.  The download finished and the installing status never finished.  Since the program installer ran I gave up waiting and rebooted.  Looks like the Assistant needs a little love.  Otherwise all was fine.  Really like the new version!!!  Thanks Bandlab bakers!!!

Best Regards,

It eventually worked for me. I started by trying to update Bandlab Assistant. It locked up, and I had to kill two instances in the Windows Task Manager before I could get it to run. The Cakewalk update took a long time to download and, with no progress bar, left me wondering whether the process was hung. I was just about ready to give up when the "Install" window popped up. It went smoothly after that.

The plot thickens.
I left the computer on overnight and this morning the download folder still shows the file sizes as shown in my last screenshot.. the files are only half the size they should be according to Noel. So they stall and that's the end of the story.

I am now convinced that because the Assistant has a very basic download system ( crude) that if the download is interrupted it stalls and is hung up. Read how many people had to try a few times to get it to work.

In my case you are almost assured to have a large file be interrupted because I'm using a Satellite system.
Example the XLN installer will show progress and tell me it was interrupted and restarted  2 or 3 times. But it always results in a complete download and updated files.
Chromes downloader will manage this as well and you are given the option to re start a download if it times out.
The first version of CbB used Chromes download because the  cakewalk.exe showed in the Global Download folder.

Anyhow I had already downloaded and installed to my old beater laptop I have at work the day it was announced.
This laptop did not have the early release installed, Just Home Studio and Splat.
It had no problems and shows as 24-04-1.

I brought my portable drive with me to work with plans to copy the cakewalk.exe and take it home.
There is nothing in the Assistants download folder? Why would that be? does the assistant delete the installation files when complete??  This is nuts!  I didn't even know that folder existed until someone pointed it out on Saturday.

No problems here. Initially, a little frustrating not knowing what's happening, and then suddenly (after 10 minutes or so) up comes the message saying installation now underway. All went smoothly.
Drum Replacer initially not recognized by VST Scan, but after a cold shutdown, this worked fine.

My update wasn't exactly without issue, but I have been having a few problems with my Virgin Media Superhub 2 so initially I put it down to that.

I had a situation that I never ran across.  I was downloading the files and our power went out.
Not once but twice.
I thought I was toast with 2 crashed downloads.  However, on the third try everything completed and Cakewalk is running just great.

And before you think badly of me, my battery backup UPS had died and had not flagged me that the battery was dead.  (Guess what I ordered today)

Win 10 Pro x64, 32Gb DDR3 ram, Sonar Platinum, Cubase 9.5, Mackie MCU Pro, Cakewalk VS 100, Roland Octa-Capture,  A 800 Pro, Carver M-1.5t amp & C4000 pre amp, various mics, drums and brass instruments.

And away we go!

I initially updated the download assistant and attempted to install CbB but it sat at installing. I then uninstalled both the download assistant and CbB reinstalled without a hitch. However, I stupidly also downloaded The Melodyne option which overwrote my paid for Melodyne Editor. The solution was simple uninstall the Melodyne 4 player and reinstall the Editor. All’s well.

Hi we were told by Celemony that installing the Melodyne Studio trial will not overwrite your existing install of Editor but it will just update the code. Your existing license should be intact. If this is not the case for you please provide more detail and let us know ASAP.

It definitely showed up as being the player version. I tried to run the paid for editor version. It said there was a newer version on my computer and stopped there. I contacted Celemony Support (who wrote back in minutes) just uninstall the updated version and rerun the paid for version. I was surprised by the promptness of the Celemony answer.

Installed for me first time. No issues at all. I also have Splat and X3 installed.

I do NOT have a download folder in the band asst folder? One of my major beefs is we do NOT get the executable.

we are always dependent on the internet. IMHO, that stinks!

Are you looking here ( see the address bar in the screenshot) I get 2 folders. One with Capital B has the Assistant installer the other has the Download folder which is empty.

Mine loaded up perfect "right out of the box". I always have to mess with the plugin mgr to have it find all my plugs but had to do same in SPLAT.

All good here too, except as a few others have said, Bandlab Assistant remained up with 'Installing' on it long after the update had installed.
