I understand... I believe the OP's issue *is* high DPC Latency. Until that issue is sorted, it doesn't matter what audio interface (or how it's connected), he's going to experience glitches. Strip the machine down to the most basic essentials. If DPC Latency is still high (and the OP has flashed the BIOS both up/down), it's time to swap the motherboard.

Along with what Jim has said/suggested. You should do a clean install of Windows and only needed drivers. Nothing else - no Sonar no recording interface unit, etc. Disable wi-fi and then run the Resplendence DPC Latency Mon. If it still has issues then the motherboard is the problem as Jim suggests. You don't need to use the existing drive, temporarily connect some other drive and install Windows on that. As I originally mentioned and Jim has mentioned you need to get the basic computer clean before even considering any recording interfaces. Troubleshooting with the recording interface connected is shooting yourself in the foot since it appears there are basic computer problems.

Alright, I'll reinstall OS, then strip. Keep in mind, the basic Realtek stuff has NO crackles or pops, only the ASIO from the interfaces.

Good move. Its a hassle but it gives you a known point to work with. If latency mon is OK with just the basic, then ONLY install the Focusrite driver and then run Latency Mon again. One step at a time. As previously noted my DAW desktop is basically the same as yours and it has no problems.

Well guys, reinstalled OS, stripped machine down to basic essentials, and still the issue persists. I'm gonna make a demo video for yall to listen this frustration.

New development: I bought a pair of Astro A40s to use while I resolve the issue. I plugged it into the optical, and usb for power. Got lots of crackles, pops, and drop outs even. Tried a headset with a mic and phone jack and it only let me use one or the other and not both. This is getting strange.

FWIW, If you're experiencing high DPC Latency, it'll affect ANY audio interface (including the motherboard's onboard audio).

I was told by the guy who built this that it might a power supply issue, thoughts?

The PSU is the least likely PC component to be causing the DPC latency problem, but it's a simple enough exercise to just plug in a spare power supply to rule that out. By this point I believe I would have already tried another motherboard just to save some frustration.
DAW: CbB; Sonar Platinum, and others ...

I agree the power supply, even if its an underrated low wattage power supply, is the last thing I would suspect.

Well guys, the success story: Swapped out the motherboard (Asus Z170-AR) with a RoG Maximus Ranger VIII. No more crackles.

The OP's issue reminds me of my setup a long time ago. Some of you may recall my entire, wind-bag thread about a very similar issue: http://forum.cakewalk.com/Sound-Crackling-CPU-Latencies-When-MultiDock-Maximized-m2921285.aspx If you can't seem to fix the latencies, no matter what you do, I suggest ditching the nVidia card and going ATI/AMD, or get a new motherboard. It seriously sucks, but audio quality is NOT a concern with any motherboard or graphics card manufacturer. nVidia is the worst, in my opinion. The card, a GTX670 at the time, did NOT play nice with a particular motherboard, no matter what I did. To make it work, I ended up hacking the registry to force the graphics card to operate at 100% all the time. And just to double-check, the power options in Windows for CPU speed is set to 100% max and 100% min, correct?

The ASUS "ROG" (gamer) motherboards do favor audio with improved chips, caps, etc. But as Windows, even in Windows 10, treats audio as a lower priority function Windows needs to improve audio support functions. The sound device is always placed on a shared Interrupt with a higher priority device.

fireberd The ASUS "ROG" (gamer) motherboards do favor audio with improved chips, caps, etc. True dat! ASUS was the maker of the board I went with prior to my current build. The ASUS board had benchmark data proving it was inherently low in latencies.
