M-Audio has NO x64 support for it's products
<rant>Just a heads up for anyone who wants to try out the x64 from Windows. They have no time frame or public beta planned for them either. I don't know about you, but this makes me even more glad I don't have to deal with M-audio anymore. I just found out my BiPort2x4S won't be usable in x64. That doesn't bother me too much since it is a legacy product. I am using drivers for it that go back to 2001. It was a fine unit. I will miss it. I can tell you this however, I will NOT be using an m-audio USB unit in the near future. </rant> Too bad x64 won't be backwards compatible. If you don't have 64-bit drivers for your unit(s), you are out of luck. SATA support has issues somewhat too.

Hi Conley, I mailed MOTU a few weeks back, they say no support or plan for PCI424 cards with x64 either, nor are they planning a new card for PCIexpress. Mind you, that was just before Steve Jobs announced his Intel plans. That's going to stir things up a bit... Regards Steve

RME is on top of this! I am very glad I made the move.

maudio DOES have beta drivers for x64. for the delta 44 among others. Delta 44 April 12, 2005 5.10.00.0051 922.05 KB Delta_Ver_51_Final.zip BETA DRIVER Beta driver feed back form Release Notes Windows 64Bit 64 Bit Beta Release Driver tested on Intel and Athlon 64 Bit systems. There is no installer with this pre-release driver. Unzip files to a folder of your preference on your hard drive. Use "Add New Hardware Wizard" to install driver files and point Wizard to that folder.

Well, they need to tell their tech support that then. The TS guy even went off of the phone and asked someone. He told me there was no public beta for any 64-bit drivers. That is what I based my post on. edit: If you got that from the beta program, you probably broke your NDA with them. maudio DOES have beta drivers for x64. for the delta 44 among others. ORIGINAL: Guitarmech111 edit: If you got that from the beta program, you probably broke your NDA with them. um...no actually, i got it from the website. simply do a driver search for your product and make sure you check "show beta". the drivers are there for everyone to use. actually m-audio were the first i think to announce suport, they even had a press release. the tech should be fired, lol. they even have a logo for it. http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=media.new&ID=1a169ed62ead801d61b0a45d7717e319

Yeah, I NEVER found M-audio TS top be the brightest bulbs in the pack. I parted with my Delta1010 so I have no other M-audio device other than the BiPort2x4S. They definitely have no driver for that for x64.

The one reason I am so happy with my Echo Layla 24/96 is they are diligently working on the 64 bit drivers for all of their products all the way back to the Layla 20, Gina, Darla etc. Even though I think I have built my last DAW, due to losing interest in the whole recording process except for creating new backing tracks for my amusement, I may change my mind in the future. And I knoiw I have a soundcard which will work on the new 64 bit hard and software. Echo products rock.

Why I dig MAudio... I bought a Delta 44 way back in the spring of 2001 I think... I needed support on two occasions and got an answer to my e-mail within a few days. I've been using my 44 w/ Win98, Win2k and now WinXP and though there were some problematic drivers and a few times when I had to roll back, I've always managed to get my card running w/ every app I was using under any OS. As it was mentionned, there are x64 drivers... They were available shortly after Cakewalk announced Sonar x64 (maybe before, I just never verified at that time) Last but not least (and not that I'm too likely to use it), a bit after Pro Tools mPowered came out, they announced compatibility w/ my old 44. In a few words, it still sounds good (though I'm considering upgrading to something else in the near future), latency is not an issue and the overall performance is great. It's up to standards, and it outlived every components of my last 2 PCs... Bang for the buck.

ORIGINAL: Rain Why I dig MAudio... I dig them a lot too. My two experiences with M-Audio tech support have been outstanding. My Delta 1010 has been kept solid as a rock since I bought it in '98 or '99. The x64 drivers for my 1010 work great in Sonar x64. Now if only UA would come out with 64-bit drivers and plugins for the UAD-1 I'd be ready to jump up to 64-bit DAWing!
