ORIGINAL: MurderDethKill Any one else install the updates? But if you go to the link supplied in the Sticky (which you linked, thanks) it says the products affected are P5 version 1! So....what does that mean, do P5v2 owners not need the VST update?? WC

I already installed S5.0.1. All I can say is it does fix the CPU meter, which is the only bug I had experienced. I didn't install the VST adapter patch but when I ran the adapter, I noticed it was version 4.5.1, so I guess Sonar 5 users only need to install the Sonar patch. BTW.- P5v2 should also benefit from the VST adapter patch.

ORIGINAL: wgcabp But if you go to the link supplied in the Sticky (which you linked, thanks) it says the products affected are P5 version 1! So....what does that mean, do P5v2 owners not need the VST update?? WC Includes enhancements and bug fixes for the following issues: - NRPN messages were not sent directly to VSTi's, even if the "Do not intercept NRPNs" option was enabled.
 - Some plug-in GUI's would take a few seconds to open
- Some plug-ins would take a few seconds to insert in a track FX bin (Sonar Specific, perhaps?)
- Virtual Guitarist VST samples were not always loaded when choosing a preset; sometimes samples would load correctly after starting playback
- Changing the default folder setting would cause VST plug-ins to be re-scanned. (again, Sonar Specific, I think...)
- Envelope jump shapes were not rendered properly when sent to VST’s
- Removed plug-ins were still left registered (i guess that means it's fixed...
) - Folder defaults were not fully functional
- Scanning is now more efficient
- Integrated Cakewalk Plug-in Manager (I checked it out...very nice...
) - Wrapped VST’s could occasionally be saved with different CLSID’s on different machines, resulting in a “missing plug-in†error message. (I've had this happen to me....)
- Various other minor bug fixes
I would say it's worth it if you do own Project 5 ver. 2 to go ahead and update the VST adapter IMHO. -MDK

does this mean that P5 v2 will function as if it has an integrated Plug in manager? OR just that this version of the VST adapter works with the integrated plug-in manager -- if one was available in P5 v2 or what???

I am downloading the patches now and will apply them later. Prior to patching, however, I am noting that my VST Adaptor is 4.5.0.74 with a create date of 7/20/2004 and a modified date of 9/13/2005. I currently have Project5 2.0.1 and SONAR 5.0 installed. I have applied all previous VST adapter updates (prior to this one) as they became available. I'll post back on version info after I install the updates today.

OR just that this version of the VST adapter works with the integrated plug-in manager -- if one was available in P5 v2 or what??? Jan, it works with the Plugin Manager included with P5 ver. 2. Yes one is available in Version 2. Go to the Project 5 install DVD and look for the Plugin Manager Directory, open it and click on PMInstall.exe Then upgrade either to Sonar 5.01 or VST Adapter 4.5.1. It should then be integrated with the Plug-in Mgr. Yes, you can run the VST Adapter separately, or while using the Plugin Manager. If I'm wrong, someone will set the record straight . edit: right, Nick...Bob....b-rock?

and the advantage of that integrated Plug in manager is one doesn't have to run the whole of the vst adapter every time something in that vst folder changes, what it 'knows' needs to be done is done at startup? (not that startup isn't slow enough already)

Ack! Why isn't the 5.01 update download resumable? Nice one...I left my modem downloading for a couple of hours while I did some other stuff thinking it'd be finished, but thanks to it not resuming, I have to start all over again

Heh...too busy ****ing to notice things like that! I'm calmer now...only 1mb to go with 40 mins before the next disconnect, so we should be home and dry. I wonder how many of those 700 posts have included 'I hate Rewire' in them?
