Sonar Drum Map for Addictive Drums is Now Available

All,

Several of you have emailed lately asking about XLN's Addictive Drums (AD) and Groove Monkee. No news yet but I thought it would be good to start with a GM to AD drum map.

Therefore, I've just added a Sonar drum map for Addictive Drums. It will allow you to use our GM mapped beats with AD. To get the map, login to your account and go to the download area (top menu bar, right side). Click on one of your purchases (right side under 'Qualified Downloads') and download the 'Extras' zip file.

Unzip the Extras file and look in the Cakewalk folder for Addictive Drums. You'll find the Addictive Drums map inside. Copy this file into your Sonar\Drum Maps folder.

Tip: Make sure you have Addictive Drums loaded into your Project BEFORE loading the drum map. Otherwise, all of the output will be directed to your midi out port, not Addictive Drums. If this happens, close the project and do NOT save anything or you will overwrite the drum map.

Note: The drum map is set up to direct percussion sounds to your default MIDI out port. This way, any GM percussion sounds will be routed to your external sound module (if you have one). There are two exceptions, however.

1. Clave
2. Cowbell

This is because AD has "sticks" for clave and a cowbell.

It is possible that we will have some news regarding Addictive Drums soon so please sign up for our newsletter if you'd like to be informed about future releases and format options.

Free MIDI beats are available in our 'Freebies' section.

Finally, Cakewalk Customers get a 20% discount at Groove Monkee - please use coupon code: cwgm20

    All,

I just uploaded a map for working directly with AD. There are now two maps but the names are changed around!

    1) Addictive Drums - shows the AD layout. For editing their grooves or your own. (new)
    2) Addictive Drums GM - for playing GM mapped grooves with AD. (renamed from 'Addictive Drums')

Again, make sure you load AD BEFORE loading these drum maps or else the output will be directed to your MIDI out port. If that happens close your project (do not save) and start again with AD loaded before loading the drum map.

    Enjoy!

Hi... I am not seeing the link in my account. Can you please tell me where it is? I don't see Qualified Downloads or Extras Zip File. Please advise. Thanks

    Hello,

We now have a single download that contains the "extras" folder. After logging in, you can download the zip(s) from the download area. The packs were recently updated, including BFD3 support so it would be a good idea to download any purchases you've made.

Note: all packs have the same "extras" folder.
