Guitarjam: You might want to do a search of the forum, as there are MANY discussions of this exact question. Some offer possible solutions, others explain the difficulties.

Good luck with whatever you're trying to accomplish!

I seem to remember that AnologX has a free vocal remover plug-in. I don't know how good it works, but you can do a Google search and try it out.

Just ask the vocalist to stop singing Okay I'm sorry I couldnt' resist - I know this comes up alot - I just watched one of my local retailers trying to explain this to someone - it was quite painful!

Just make sure to have a phase cancellation in your vocal chain and mix it down in mono....

You can't take the eggs out of a cake once it is baked. I have tried several plugs they always screw with the total mix.

I'd Seize the day but i can't quite reach it!

I've had good luck on a few commercially recorded tunes. But mainly, it depends on how the tracks were recorded.

Didn't Voxengo also make a plug for this or did I just imagine it?

Thanks, Susan - I've read that one. There is also a very good step by step instruction when using Sound Forge, unfortunately, I can't remember where I found it.
Pushin'comes to shove, I'll use Sound Forge for this.
