who here is good with mics?

i was wondering if this would be a good one

could you please give me your input about this mic?
my girlfriend is planning on getting me it for my birthday

    The link isn't coming through, but if it's the Rode NT1 your thinking about then yes, get it. I have the NT1-A (not sure of the exact difference, I think it's just the shockmount) and I love it. I did a good deal of research beforehand. It's really hard to buy a mic since you can't really demo them, you basically just have to go with your gut. There are people who swear by one brand or another, but you won't go wrong with a Rode.

    IIRC, ONA uses the NT1000. It records the female voice great. The reviews were good and probably from men. I've thought about getting one of these.
