New nVidia nForce3-250 *nearly* here

See here:- http://www.anandtech.com/chipsets/showdoc.html?i=2004

I know that actual production motherboards are still 1-2 months away, but to me at least, from all the rpeorts and info available, this is clearly looking like becoming the DAW platform of choice in terms of (a) outright performance and (b) overclocking [ now that we have a proven/tested AGP/PCI lock ].

Actually the current SiS 755 is benching much better than the current NForce 3 on all counts and PCi bandwidth and IDE.As far as I'm concerned NForce is playing catch-up to SiS performance-wise.When the new sockets arrive,we'll see the outcome..............again.

I can't say I agree. NVidia's hypertransport link is not at full bandwidth compared to Via and SIS... but that hardly has a realworld impact... and certainly does not impact PCI or IDE.

I've been building several systems with Via K8T800, NVidia nForce3, and SIS 755 chipsets... and I've seen the best performance and least issues with nForce3.

If you were using the ECS 755A I can see why,but you shouldn't have any problems with the 755-A2 or especially the new ASRock board based on the 755.
