Can I Have 2 Soundcards With SONAR?

Hey,

I have a MAudio Audiophile 192 i use for recording my amplifier (guitar). I also have an Audigy 2ZS which i used to use for soundfonts. I took out the Audigy to put in the MAudio and now i'm having trouble working with soundfonts, etc b/c i'm used to the Creative card for that.

My question is: can i have BOTH cards in my PC to use both functinalities? Will my PC or SONAR freak out b/c of having 2 cards?

You don't want to use two soundcards for several reasons (one of them is you will not be able to run the system in ASIO but there are also others). You don't need the audigy for soundfonts. Just download the free sfz soundfont player and use it as a VSTi plugin in Sonar . Even if you use a little more of resourcces in your system it's better than the soundcard soundfont.

Boten is very correct, i was trying to use 2 sound cards at one time as well, my firewire 1814 and an Audigy SOund Blaster something or other just so i could have more outputs i just started recording and had no equipment.

Anyways it caused instability w/ my system it would crash constantly i had run windows repair from boot cd and everything.
