Looks different from ground level. The water is much deeper than it appears

I wouldn't want to be in that water with the power lines around head-height!

I bet the city will now start building a new (multi-million dollar) drainage system.......a similar thing like that happened in Las Vegas (being at the bottom of a valley) sometime back.

Glad to hear you & da Hamzster are doing ok.......hope it clears out soon.

Thanks Mesh! I was worried about the Hamzter myself!! I can't talk so calling wouldn't help much. Who could have predicted this? I watched the perfect storm unfold with highs and lows in just the right place at the right time for a freak rain event. Oh how I hope this was a freak rain event
Lots of clean up ahead!

I Am back home already. I tried to clean stuff. I tried to move stuff. No one would let me help. They kept bringing me a chair to sit in. I was asked over and over" Are you sure you don't need anything?" People everywhere helping is great! Lots and Lots of people! I was just a distraction away from where the real help was needed so I went to lunch   Are you OK? was the last straw!  I Am not old  I Am not old  I Am not old

Re: Flood 2016/03/15 17:21:58 (permalink)
ever volunteered for something and then wished you hadn't? I got to help cleanup today. Now I hurt everywhere. I hosed everything down at the store. What a mess! I skipped lunch today which was another big mistake. I had to take a shower to take a shower. Mud is everywhere and I had a thin film of something from the water which is why I needed a shower to take a shower. Didn't I say that already? I Am beat! Gumbo for supper tonight! Things are returning to normal but the river is still high. It's supposed to go down a lot over night. I miss Sonar

I'm sure everyone there wishes they hadn't volunteered but, also, that everyone is appreciative of those that did!

I did the squeegee thing on the office floor and kitchen. That's what I wish I hadn't volunteered for. It was pleasant not having someone ask me if I needed anything. Everyone was very cheerful. It was a gorgeous day! If anyone wants to check out the campground go here; hidden oaks family campground

If they want people to find the campground, why is it hidden?

Loved the people. Hated the weather.

Stay safe, Bill.
