I started a thread about this about a year ago using the Sonitus Gate as the sidechain receiver - I got more flack and "what for"s than you can imagine! :O)

Ludwig, I believe you are the ultimate source for this plugin, as I just worked my way back through the threads and links to your original thread :  http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3050940

There have been a few unbelievers this time around as well.

Thanks a lot, Silktone - this is a simple but effective tool. Really cool :-)

After reading all of this and playing around with the plug-in for a while I can see why I now "want to" have this feature in Sonar ... it may indeed get a lot more use than I thought when I read the early threads ...

Installed, and this message bookmarked.  Obviously a hearty thanks for you to come up with this.
Please keep us informed if you take this any further.

Very cool.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Re: Turn any Track into a Bus 2015/06/07 10:16:33 (permalink)
Found this, and love it. Although, I discovered one issue:

I have two snare tracks: Top and bottom mike. I used the plugin to create a common snare track with these two routed into it. This track is then routed to a drum bus, wich all drum tracks go through. The plugin is placed in an FX chain at the top of the Pro Channel for the common snare track, and the solo buttons are grouped together.

Now, if I solo the drum bus, there is no snare sound there. If I solo the three snare tracks, the sound is routed too the drum bus, but if I solo the bus, there is no snare. If I solo both the drum bus and the three snare tracks, there are no sound at all.

For the record, I also tried routing the two individual snare tracks to through a normal bus in the bus section, and that worked fine.

Any idea?

This is such a great plugin. It's creative uses go beyond it simple implementation.

I think this was the plugin that started the recent run on members developing plugins. We have about 7 or 8 now 3 of which are being updated at the moment and due for release soon.

I just downloaded it.

Sounds like one of the more interesting concepts to come along in a while.
There was a recent thread about having the bus along side the tracks using it.
Pfft - when pigs fly I thought.

And there they go!

Thanks.
