Genghis & JB, if I was a drug addict, you guys would be my dealer!!! How can anyone (addicted) argue with this logic! Thanks guys.....my wife will be happy to know I got "Pro" advice. LOL Yes, I too would like to hear from Dave (ModBod) on his impressions......after all, my wife believes that ModBod is responsible for me getting Superior Drummer!! (It's a good thing Dave....she supports my music passion).

(It's a good thing Dave....she supports my music passion). It's all in the selection of the perfect one .... woman that is. The lovely Mrs. Modisette is very supportive. In fact she's dangerous to take to the music store because if she sees a guitar that she thinks is pretty she'll ask me if I need one of those because she likes it.

No downside to that guitar, that I can see.
I've got a UAD-1, and I think the trade-in is more than fair for that old card that I've gotten a lot of good use out of. I just wish I could apply it to an Apollo... maybe I can talk them into it.

Now that's what I call a good one... Mind you there's a downside you could end up with one of these. Yes, but she knows what's cool and what's not. She's always reminding me that I shouldn't have sold the Black Rickenbacker bass. Mind you, I had just bought a new white Rickenbacker bass. And just the other day she told me that I shouldn't have sold the Hofner Beatle bass and she didn't even know me then. Now, she doesn't want me to sell the 1982 G&L L-2000 with the skunk strip neck and the pre-lawsuit headstock. She says I'll be sorry. What a woman. (Edit: She did mention that UA could have at least put the 710 in a bigger heavier box so that you'd feel like you got something. Perfect, she isn't, I guess. )

Played my Musicman 5 string bass through the 710. Very clean. I can't put my finger on it soundwise. It's almost like you can hear sound molecules, it's so transparent compared to what I've be using. Edit: Oh, yeah. And I have the rebate and proof of purchase in an envelope waiting on the postman tomorrow morning. Eight weeks and waiting.

I've got a UAD-1, and I think the trade-in is more than fair for that old card that I've gotten a lot of good use out of. I just wish I could apply it to an Apollo... maybe I can talk them into it. You can trade that old UAD-1 card in toward an Apollo (in a roundabout way), if you use the right dealer (jrrshop). The have an "in-house" program where they will take your UAD-1 cards and take $150 ea off the price. No need to pay $199 for a SOLO first or anything, just a straight up $150 discount with the card turn-in. That is what I did last week. I ordered an Apollo QUAD and got a generous 15% discount off of the listed sale price and then got another $150 off of that. With the free shipping and no sales/added value tax, I ended up paying under $2K. Then after the fact, I found out that each registered Apollo user gets a $100 plug-in voucher. So I am quite pleased as punch with my final "net" price! Unfortunately, due to the high demand they are on backorder. So I am not sure when I will get my new Apollo, but I can still live vicariously through the posted experiences of those that have one already. Cheers, Billy Buck

A little word about the UA-710. Tonight was the first time I used it in a session. We were recording vocal tracks. I asked the vocalist to vocalize a bit as I tried dialing in a sound using my GT66. I fed a cue mix to the phones in the booth and as I turned the blend control up to the 1 o'clock position I got an, "Oh, what was that? That sounds nice." That's where we left it. At "4" on the gain and 7-1/2 on the output with the blend at 6.
