This is one of those threads Starise was talking about last week.

No one is going to convince ANYBODY of ANYTHING on this topic. Look where this has denegrated to. Not one of our better moments around here folks.

If a knife, or a baseball bat, or a vehicle, is used to kill somebody (and not used for it's intended purpose of slicing food/playing baseball/driving from A to B) then it is, by definition, being used incorrectly.

If a firearm is used incorrectly, either a target is not destroyed or a quarry not killed.

Now there's irony.

First of all guns were created to be dangerous, this was actually the only reason we created guns
Well they did catch on for hunting too, but that is not dangerous (except to the animals.... and they don't count )

really? you forgot Dick Cheney got shot in the arse during hunting???

Ah yes, hunting.

How anyone can get any enjoyment out of killing another animal in the name of sport is completely beyond me.

Fair enough I suppose if an animal is reared for food, and then killed humanely. But killing something for fun is sick.

Yeah, it's probably best not to argue with people who have guns.

Guitarhacker, sorry but you've gone nuts completely and you arguments make no sense whatsoever...

You are not able to discuss rationality the problem BTW, you just repeat in circle same silly statements which you heard
in TV.

??????

I take it you don't like guns or people who do like guns?

No.. I didn't get any of those things from TV... the folks on TV tend to agree with your POV.

The bullets are OK too, it's just when you try to slow them down too quickly with a part of your soft tissue that problems are likely to occur.

Yup, it was way clear by just watching all them fellers eyes whilst they was shootin how safety conscious they was.  Especially when they was showin the wee lad how fire a military grade machine gun.  Guns are weapons and weapons are meant to maim or kill.  We still ain't so different from our ol evolutionary ancestors.  IPhones or not.

No personal attack here ol pal.  Just another county heard from.  My BFF is a "gun enthusiast" and we are always having very spirited discussions.  The one thing we DO agree on as pertains to this matter tho is it's always good to have a firearm handy if you've finally had about enough of this ol life;-). But that's about it.

What got me is that entire army of loons could have been wiped out by a dozen of those flimsy plastic drones if they were armed and shooting back.

That lot weren't able to hit a bulls backside with a banjo.

I also wonder how many of 'em would run home to momma if they got involved in a fist fight.

It all looked a bit sad really, like they were compensating for a lack of 'nads.

Bless 'em.
