Well ... I pointed out a big problem, and posted a screenshot. My favorite part of the PC is that you don't have to use it.

I would imagine that when some of us are using X4, there will be loyal X2 users bemoaning the changes.

For example: If you said to me something like, "I am using XP, with Sonar 8.5 and my main plugin is Reaktor 3, and I have Vintage Warmer 1 and Waves Version 6." I just wouldn't be surprised... People get used to a certain version, they like that version, and decide that they don't need/want the upgrade? Who knows...

Bub Being able to add FX to the Pro Channel is nice, but it really falls short in that you can't see what effects you have on your tracks/buses. When they are in the FX Bin you can get an overall idea of what's on your tracks and get a rough idea of what load is being placed on your system. For example ... this project has roughly 50 FX in it ... I've been forcing myself to use FX Chains only because I can see them phasing out the FX Bin, which I vehemently appose, but there's nothing I can do about it. 'Right click and select View Image for full screen picture' While I'm first to admit the FX bin is pretty much redundant (but only if you want it to be) it's a bit of a leap from that to removing it altogether, which I also hope doesn't happen and I'll also be surprised if it does. What are Studio, Essential and LE users going to do to start with? If you want to see the FX why not put them in the FX bin? I only wish I had your positive outlook on life Bub...

Just have the Inspector visible and with all pc modules collapsed, you can see at a glance what's there:

I thought I was being positive by using the FX Chain's before I was forced in to it. I guess you could look at that as being more proactive than positive though. As for the Inspector ... you're missing the point and I don't have the time or energy to go over this anymore. It is what it is. So far I'm really liking X2, I think it's great. Thanks, Bub.

Hey, Bub - can we all chip in and get the guy in your pic some whitening strips? And it's a little hard to tell, but is he REALLY doing a comb-over farther back, with all of the other stuff he's got going on? Kind of reminds me of my first wife though - he has her smile. I like having both PC and FX Bin available. I too find it easy on the eyes and on the brain to see them nicely sitting there in the FX Bin. Bob Bone

For those that don't like the Softube saturation knob, I totally get it. This thing goes from off to TOO distorted much too quickly. I have found a few things I like it on and you may find the same in experimenting: 1. Kick 2. Snare 3. Toms 4. Bass that needs some dirt 5. Guitars that I want more distorted I have no user for it outside of these things, and only use on them to taste if the style is appropriate. Peace, Tunes

The softube works well for some warmth as another poster mentioned if used sparingly. I've put it on the master bus for a few songs using maybe a couple of clicks on the settings. That is really the only time it is soft sounding. It's more harsh/course sounding past the 9:00 setting.

@Freddie, to automate plug-ins in the pc fx chain, or fx chain, you have to assign the controlls (knobs, buttons)of the fx chain to controls on the plug-in

I want control 3part-VST with a hardware controller example AVID Artist-series or ACT technology A-800 PRO. That doesn't work with VST plugins inserted in new Pro Channel Fxs chain module.. Work in normal FX:s bin though.

right i can see wat your saying now, just tried it my self, when you load a knob into the fx chain and assign it to a parameter, it has a learn function, but cant get it mapped to my pcr 500

Well, BREVERB SONAR is a VST that is loaded in the Fx Bin but it cannot be used in any other DAW (including, get this, X1). FWIW, That's a license issue. The Bakers licensed Breverb Sonar for distribution/use with X2.
